Kane County Citizen | 10:50 p.m. June 1, 2008
Let me make it clear from the beginning that I am not a fan of the Kane County Commissioners. However, I have to side with them on the situation with Mr. Hallisey. Because this is a personnel issue, they have no choice, but to keep a lid on the issues that are causing conflicts. To do otherwise would subject the county to a lawsuit which Mr. Hallisey would win. However, I have some insight into the issues and am confident that they have nothing to do with Mr. Hallisey's political aspiration. I expect he is using the conflict as a way to further his political interests by making himself sound like a martyr.

Cowboy Ted IS ambitious and occasionally volatile. But he also ends up on the right side (it's undoubtedly LEFT of most of the Kanab and Kane County pols, including the uber-right Noel). He has worked hard to do the job that he was hired for -- which is to promote travel and tourism in Kane County. To that end, he has complained about some of the strange and closed-minded actions of the Kanab City and Kane County officials. But his actions have been based on the fact that bad press does not help the local economy in the area -- in fact it alienates much of the traveling public.
Anyone making comments that run contrary to the currently entrenched regime is often not tolerated well -- in Kanab it is very like painting a target on your back if you speak your mind and stand up for what you think.
Cowboy Ted is at least willing to stand for what he believes. I support that and appreciate that there is someone who will do it.
