I wonder.... | 6:42 a.m. May 28, 2008
Sandy used to be such a wonderful place to live. The Sandy government used to care for the citizens. Now the care about MONEY! They do NOT listen to the citizens, they look like they are in the planning meetings, but when it comes down to it, they do what they want.

Sandy wants to open a road in Historic Sandy that would connect to a new development. A large number of the citizens of the area have signed a petition for them to NOT do it. They attended meetings asking them NOT to do it. Oh, the powers that be were polite and then basically said "we don't care what you want, we want this road opened". If I understand correctly, the road is too narrow and is illegal. Sandy city is willing to break the law because they "want this road opened!"

Sandy is not so fun anymore. It has lost its rural charm and has way way too many buildings standing around empty... Sandy is a mess under current leadership and that includes the planning and city councils....

If you listen to those cutesy radio adds about the charm of Sandy and think about moving here, rethink!

Amazed
I sat through the budget presentations of Sandy city. I am amazed at the enormous amount of services and projects they are able to provide for the city with the limited amount of money they receive. They were thoughtful, informed and completely open about all expenditures.

Sandy is funding Real and the county government and school districts will receive a windfall of funds from the project. It is one thing that the schools will receive money, but it different that the county should reap enormous financial windfall from Real.

The previous writer said Sandy is not rural anymore. Well..duh!

With our huge families we are bound to build and grow even if no one moved here. But they are moving here...by the thousands. Things change. Progress can't be denied.

Businesses are thriving here in Sandy. There is a climate of excitement and anticipation. Kudos to Mayor Dolan a

Sandy government is doing a tremendous job for their citizens. All these projects...Real, the Broadway theater, the towers, the Aquarium, the retail developments...all help pay for Sandy government services and that has been the reason they have not raised property taxes for ever.

Kudos to Mayor Dolan & Council.

Nancy Workman-- Real credibility there. One politician giving her fellow politician buddy a pat on the back.
Congrats Sandy | 11:41 a.m. May 29, 2008
I think Sandy is moving in the right direction. They will rival downtown SLC one day. The Real stadium is going to make a lot of cash for Sandy and allow for more development.
