"When the D's were in power this stuff never happened!"

At least in the streets... On the Great Seal is another story.

"You idiots the video is from surveillance cameras attached to his house. He did not follow her with a hand held video camera. So you are a sicko for jumping to conclusions and saying he has issues. So fast to judge WRZ."

Far be it from me to argue, but here's what the article said:

"Most of this was witnessed by a man who had video cameras running in front of his house. He followed the naked woman."

The question seems to be: Was the cameras in front of his house "running" or was the man "running" in front of his house with his cameras? In any event, it's clear that he followed the naked lady.

If we can't drive naked, then the terrorists have won.

Can't decide which I enjoyed more, the article or the comments on this blog - I haven't laughed this much in a long time...

Please keep 'em coming.

It is always nice to know there is NO sense of humor in you...as it ought to be...you are in the land that killed humor altogether!

Sheesh lighten up! She's being taken care of..that is the most important thing...

Dude w/ camera- either post it on Youtube or throw it away...otherwise you look like a jerk for not giving her a frickin piece of clothing...

and Utahns make fun of people in California...this just goes to show that the most bizaare things are NOT always along the Sta Monica promenade...

Also to the pious, holier-than-thous...who keep thinking "sicko" and "perv" how many eyes are you going to cover if YOU are at that intersection? You can't control everyone and the less you do, the better for everyone else..we all have our free agency and the capability to use it as we want!

the naked body is NOT sick, it IS a beautiful thing and because she decided to go clothing optional for the day is no reason to commit her...

Her only crime is breaking and entering..that was dumb...well that and leaving the scene of an accident.

New party game, somebody reads the article and associated message board posts out loud, every time you hear the words "Naked Lady" or "Naked Woman" you take a drink. Last person not on the floor or in the bathroom wins.

At Copacabana beach, Rio de Janeiro, I've seen old guys, men and women, with tiny little things covering their nakedness, but peladonas e peladoes' (completely naked) I never saw. That is so funny, specially for Utah!

Many posts have mentioned a possible mental condition--but I'm going with the one who thought Ambien might be responsible. I have known someone who took Ambien and ended up having to be hospitalized--no easy feat--when they ended up totally altered, dangerous, and completely worthy of a psych lock up, which amazingly didn't happen. So word to the wise--sleep isn't worth what Ambien could do to you.

On a separate note, this story also points out the sense of wearing your jammies to bed.

One could have a lot of fun posting comments to these stories and headlines if the state church wasn't sanitizing every comment.

BTW, it states that SHE was driving on the wrong side of the road, not the guy she hit. READ people. Also, my experience reminds me that the kind of people that are willing to walk around naked are NOT the kind of people that you WANT to see naked. You people are SICK if you want to see that!

This woman was in her 40's. Now with all due respect to my wife, who remains hot even at the age of 46, most over-40 are not much to look at!

We would need pictures and video to confirm this suspicion.

Is it OK not to wear your garments while you drive? I'm going to have to try that now that it is known to be an activity best engaged in nude.

And I, for one, REFUSE to let the terrorists win by taking away my right to drive naked!

Besides, driving naked and getting into an accident takes advantage of those cool baby powder applicators (air bags) and stops all that chaffing!

I do hope she didn't have leather seats. Cloth feels much better on naked skin. Far less sticky.

Like most men wouldn't follow a neked woman walking down the street.

I hope she doesn't have kids in school. The teasing will be outrageous!
possibility | 11:54 p.m. May 27, 2008
Perhaps she was driving somewhere on a dare, or was throwing a little excitement into driving to her boyfriends house naked? No wonder she was so upset when some idiot ruined it by running into her on the wrong side of the street! :)
cant believe it | 12:55 a.m. May 28, 2008
If that were a man walking down the street naked, he would be arrested, convicted and put on "the list".

If it's a woman, people just wonder if it's a medical or mental condition. Can anyone say "double standard"

Samantha | 7:18 a.m. May 28, 2008
Thank you for not putting a photo with this story! The news last night was bad enough - large (don't know if it was relative) fuzzy blob editing the trunk of the woman, moving around on the screen with bare legs and feet showing. But, on the more serious side, this woman obviously needs some help!
Grandpa Phil | 7:22 a.m. May 28, 2008
I see no fault in the actions (or dress) of the lady, but I DO see fault in the actions of the man who followed her with a video camera. Being followed by a strange man taking an unauthorized video of you nude is grounds for trying to get away into any place that might be safe. He had no right to do that and he obviously made her feel uncomfortable under circumstances where she should have been VERY comfortable. Nudity is not the same as sex and she would not have been exposed to the public, or the pervert, if the other driver had been driving on his own side of the street. I see no offense committed by her. The pervert should have his camera confiscated before he does something stupid with the video and violates her right to privacy. OK, that last line may have sounded a little funny but nudists have privacy rights, too. They may not care about the privacy of their private parts but it is the whole person that is protected from such invasion. If I had been there, I would have just said "thank you for improving my day". "Nuff said.
What? | 7:36 a.m. May 28, 2008
Perhaps she heard the president was coming to town and wanted to find him. So, she drove around town aimlessly in an attempt to locate bush. She may be a Bush supporter. Give her a break. It could happen to anyone.

Of course someone followed her around with a video camera rather than showing some human compassion and offering to get her a robe or getting her some help. Sometimes I think the rest of the world is right about us.
20 years ago | 8:20 a.m. May 28, 2008
Reminded of a time when another Deputy and I had to wrestle a lady who was chasing around with a big butcher knife without a stitch of clothes on ... at least she was in her own home ... it was her children that had called 911. Video cameras in those days were the size of a big suitcase. Still it is the coincidence of the guy with a camera and the guy on the wrong side of the road looking for a "lost" car that really makes this story destined to be the great Midvale Urban Legend.

Whats wrong with driving naked we do it in Davis county all the time
Oh how quick we are to judge | 9:28 a.m. May 28, 2008
To everyone who is condeming the man for not offering her something to wear -- how do you know he didn't try? The article doesn't say one way or the other.

When I was a kid, my parents and I found a naked women hiding behind our deli, behind the dumpster. My father gave her a towel to cover up with (the only thing he had handy). She used it to try to clean herself up (she was quite a mess), discarded it and walked off, still naked.

For all we know, this man followed her to make sure she wasn't taken advantage of.
Indecent Exposure | 9:36 a.m. May 28, 2008
"have his camera confiscated before he does something stupid with the video and violates her right to privacy" I think you give up your right to privacy (not being video taped and having it distributed online at least) when you walk down the street naked. If she cared about not being seen naked she should have stayed in her car or maybe even asked for something to cover up with.

If it turns out that she is sane, she should be charged with indecent exposure. If that had been a man, you could bet he would be charged.
Greg | 9:38 a.m. May 28, 2008
And all y'all thought West Valley City had all the excitement. It does make you wonder what would have happened if the guy had been on the right side of the road. How many naked drivers are there out there who don't get into accidents which thus...um... expose them?

On National News | 3:21 p.m. May 28, 2008
Saw the video this morning on Fox news, got to wonder if she was on Meth? Didn't I just read that a couple in Utah called the cops on themselves, and he was also using porn from the hotel? They called the cops about their drug dealing, they were a bit high on drugs at the time. Hate to tell you this Utah, you still don't hold a candle compared to Missouri, there are murders on nearly a daily basis, mostly gang related, but sadly some very innocent people are killed.

Now the big question, did they get her saying "don't taze me bro" while in the buff?
Charge the teenagers!! | 5:19 p.m. May 28, 2008
I say the teenagers need to be charged also. If the police in Davis county can charge kids for just texting naked pictures to each other, then these two teenages needed to be arrested and charged with prostitution. The law needs to be inforced for ALL>
