American Fork High School students discover 4 'killer' asteroids

good to hear news from AF besides the band...

i miss the atari game asteroids... hope these kids figure out how to blow'em up

It does show us where our priorities are. I watched a history channel show on possible space disasters that stated the number of people in the world working on an asteriod/earth collision plan would not staff one McDonalds.

What? Every documentary I've seen on this and every article I've read has indicated that the technology to alter the path of such a body does NOT exist! Every proposal, from attaching a "sail" to the surface to use the solar wind to modify its course to placing a large space craft near it to use its gravitational attraction on the asteroid to change its speed or direction is currently a pipe dream. What's worse, no one is working to make it anything more than such a dream. We seem to be doing a good job of cataloging the potential destroyers but that's nothing more than knowing which bullet is gong to kill you.

It is nice to hear about AF High School Students and their accomplishments especially since it is something other than sports and the band! Way to go Mr. Craig's Astronomy class!!

As a former caveman who is still proud of being called one, my salute to the students!! So neat!!
