FLDS family gets court to stop tot's separation from mother

Shame on Texas! The posters might get all "High and Proud" to be from Texas and slam Utah and Arizona for not "ACTING", but if THIS is the action of the State of Texas, then Utah and Arizona are to be commended for acting with restraint regards to these people. To work within their framework to gain the trust of people who desire to leave, to help those who might be abused.
They're doing the best they can in a very difficult situation.
There are no hidden motives, there is no intent to try to destroy a religious group.
Their only intent is to protect the children from a possibly abusive situation.
These loving parents who put on such a pious act still follow unquestioningly the dictates of abusive old men who force girls to be married when they're still children, who force excess boys out of their communities, and who reassign families to new men at a whim.
It's time the FLDS stopped blaming Texas for their problems and started realizing that their problems stem from their misguided loyalty to shameless, dirty old men.
Happy Birthday to you.
Say goodbye to your family.
No more good days for you.
Where are the checks and balances on this unfettered power? This story highlights the danger of unchecked authority. No matter the worthiness of the cause--absolute power corrupts absolutely!!
No they're not. The laws governing when the CPS may take children are reasonably explicit, and the CPS's actions in this case have not even been close to being within their own standards.
One standard being that the CPS should make every effort to keep the child with the parent so long as the safety of the child is ensured. In the example of this article, the CPS is not doing this at all, but instead taking the baby from it's mother despite the fact that the baby's safety is ensured in the present living arrangements.
