Ronnie Price gets clobbered by Turiaf, and he is all class. Isiah Thomas got clobbered by Karl Malone, and he whined for a year about it. Congratulations to Ronnie Price for being a man about it.

I'm still trying to figure out the "doesn't do anything non-religious on Sunday" thing from LHM. Such a big deal was made out of him not attending Sunday's game. Consider the big media "event" it became. Long drive with an ESPN reporter along to document it, leaving his wife home on Mother's Day, etc.

Then he does the TV show on Sunday night and comments on the Turiaf vs Price incident. If you're going to watch the highlights and go on TV to comment on them and keep your theaters open on Sunday, etc. etc. etc. why not just go to the game and not make the rest of us church members look like buffoons?

For the record, my church block was from 9:00 to noon. We talked to our missionary from 12:15 to about 1:00pm. Ate Mother's Day lunch until about 1:30 and then sat as a family and watched the Jazz! Sunday evening, when LHM was recording his TV show I was in a meeting with my Stake President...comparing thoughts about the game, which he watched too. And you didn't hear about any of it in the media!!!

It's odd he won't watch the Jazz games on sunday while his employees at the Mayan were obligated(at least when I worked there) to work sundays.
You had to be willing to work sundays in order to get the job there in the first place.

Leave Larry Miller alone. How he choose to practice his religion is NON OF YOUR BUSINESS.If you LDS are embarrassed by how he conducts himself then you are in the wrong Church. When they make you a "judge in Israel" let me know.

Sorry, but living in So. Cal during the finals, so many of my friends asked why it was OK to stand in the tunnel, but not come out to watch the game.


When the man throws it on religious beliefs, that I supposedly share, then it becomes my BUSINESS, and I have no idea how to explain it. I just told them that he was "stupid", and they seemed to buy it. (I think Miller wants to be an Apostle someday... That's my theory).

I'm sure it is between LHM and his maker, but really, no Brokeback Mountain because it's gay, and Will and Grace on KJAZZ.

I just wish all these good LDS people would shut up about their LDS standards on a PUBLIC LEVEL (LHM, Steve Young, Danny Ainge Firesides, Shawn Bradley, Sis. Thurl on why it's OK to marry non-LDS... all poor examples) and just live their convictions, and keep them out of the papers.

But Ronnie Price, now he "WORKED" Sunday, and WORKED" Walton. I wonder if Bill and Luke can get us a signed copy of that poster...

Now, that would be worth some $$$. Anything to silence papa Walton.

Respect your religion.
Allow others to respect their own, in the way they feel it necessary.
Larry Miller has commented that the Brethren have asked him to keep the Jazz in Utah because it brings opportunities for the Church.
Miller's a good guy.
Not a perfect guy.
He may still have to do an interview on t.v. on Sunday; he's a celebrity.
However, I think he feels different when he's screaming at officials, giving high-fives, and being all worked up, than he does doing an interview on the news.
I think his heart is in the right place, and I respect that.
So, everyone quit complaining about LDS people sharing their religion when they're in the spotlight. I, for one, am glad they do. They are trying to open their mouths, and whether or not they do it YOUR way, doesn't matter to THEIR salvation.

You get bent because LHM doesn't practice your religion the same way you do, because you can't explain it to your friends. Instead of telling others to live the way you do, how about telling your friends that your religion is no different than any others and everyone is unique in exactly how they live it!

I have a friend who is active LDS who has an adult beverage from time to time... big deal, he can practice his faith his way and I am not going to bent about it.

Why do people care about LHM and his religious practices? Quit casting stones. I care about Ronnie Price. He was amazing to watch during college and continues to be a lot of fun in the pros. But better than that--he is a humble person who works hard. He's not a glory hog. Just a fine upstanding young man. Go Price!! Go JAZZ!!

Yet another thread degraded into a re-hash of some previous conversation...... It's not about LHM and his Sunday preferences.

It's about Price and the foul.

I'm 100% with price: no suspension warranted. I honestly wouldn't have complained if the ref's agreed to a Flagrant 1 call and never even ejected him. If Price had caught himself a little differently, he wouldn't have even been hurt, and they refs probably would have not ejected Turiaf. Bad luck for Turiaf how Price landed.

I'm way stoked for tomorrow's game. The Jazz have some momentum and a fair shot at this game. I hope a win doesn't come because of an injured Kobe, but I'll be happy regardless. If Boozer has even an average game, and the rest play like they have, the Jazz can take game 5.

I still find it odd that a man *trying* to keep the Sabbath holy is a news story. The LDS Church isn't the only religion in the country that believes Sunday is the Sabbath. Isn't the rest of the country mostly Christian? Don't most, if not all, Christian churches believe Sunday is the Lord's Day and should be a day of rest? Just because Utah is mostly one religion people feel the need to have a religion story with every event in Utah. One man trying to live his religion, despite his celebrity status in the state, is not a news story.

Um, back to the actual article, Ronnie Price showed a lot of class by wanting it to stay competitive. To be quite honest, I was actually surprised Turiaf was ejected, considering some of the other flagrant 1's that have occurred throughout the league this playoffs. Let's hope Price gets more playing time in the future and becomes a great representative of UVSC, er, UVU!

When one does, asks for media to go with him, and makes all of his employees break the sabbath, it's sort of a story.

The story I want to read is how Papa Walton feels about his son getting swatted by Price.

I think the NBA got it right on the non-suspension of Turiaf. He did however deserve the ejection he got during the game. The flagrant foul comes almost 2 full seconds after the whistle was blown...can't blame the guy for being all caught up in the moment...but you can eject him! Good call on both ends.
