I am beginning to think that "the powers that be" determine the winner of idol based upon who they think will make more money for them. The judges influence the voting substantially and can and do virtually "pick the winner" as the public generally follow their views. Secondly, especially when it gets down to the final 3 songs the singers should live or die on their owm selections NOT be forced to sing something which may in fact not be at all suite to their voices or style. Finally the "Idol song" at the end of the competition is invariably chosen to showcase one individual "their choice" over the other. Grossly unfair.

I think the media is just looking for a target to pick on.I believe the scoop came from an inside source (AI).
It is unreal with all these hoolabalu of putting the competitors in the bubble and their own ppl broke the rule and probably did not get the whole story right. it
is irresponsible to let something like this go out to
the public. Could have been dealt differently. It makes
you wonder if this is planned to get ratings. I believe
david's parents are strong supporter of their son.

David and his family are loving and supportive people. Nobody is pushing David! He is doing what he loves. Jeff is not an evil stage dad! I KNOW it cuz he is my friend. This crap is part of being a celebrity and perhaps with AI, ensuring that the person you want to win is the one who wins! I still don't know how they can keep David from having a guardian at any point in time. He is a minor and it's against the law. I do know one thing though. Jeff and Lupe will never do anything that would hurt David and they are the best people to protect him in this business. A manager may be needed but nobody, and I mean nobody has your best interest at heart more than family. All you people that believe everything you read in STAR, the Enquirer, etc., these are magazines that make money selling sensationalistic stories, the key word being "stories" and I'm sorry but if you buy it, you just aren't that smart. Love and support to you Archuleta Family! Thank you for sharing such a gift!

anonymous, David is a minor he needs an adult support. Why would those adult contestant should have someone with them? His father is there to protect him from predators that trying to get a piece of David to make money. If he gives advice,or tell David his idea, that is what parents is all about. If you have a 17 yr old with a talent like David, will you leave him alone because it is not fair for the rest? and then suggest to bring help for the others? I am pretty sure that will never cross your mind if. If you are a good parent, all you can think of is the welfare of your child. Please think first before you say anything.

Those poeple that are succesful most in their lives are the poeple that had a total support from family. I truly believe the saying that character begins at home. Who is at home? isn't it the father and the mother and the rest of the family? You see that is what so wrong in this country, everything you have to say or do to your child is everybody's business. When a child goes bad then they blame it to the parents because the parents is never there for to support and GUIDE and if they do,regardless of the situation, then the parents again is wrong. the Archuleta family has a lot of love and respect that I could see and that is what's lacking to this country because they are so busy out there making money or whatever and simply forgot what is more important.

Mike, you think whoever wins this competition is the one that brings the most money to them? Of course it is! Every single thing that revolves on A Idol, is all about money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money ,money, money, money, especially now. that the dollar is down, cost of fuel is up,shortage of food because poeple are hurding the supplies to take the bite of the money, is all about money lol.

David Archuleta is 17 yrs. old, he is not an adult yet. His father has done nothing wrong with trying to guide his son. If David does win, he will need his father to help him sign contracts until he is of legal age.
Thank God there are still parents that have their children's best interest at heart. David is a very humble young man and is very thankful for all that he has achieved. I think his parents have raised a very fine young man. So, his father can't be as bad as the producers would like for people to think. I applaued his father for being there for his son every step of the way.
