Utah Jazz: Williams shows his cool when it counts

Utah got the best point gaurd when they drafted him 3rd. CP3 is a great player, but would not have been able to work his magic in Utah.

Yes, Deron has grown up fast and his mental toughness is starting to rub off on everyone around him. From Korver diving for balls, to Ronnie Price driving to the hoop, getting flattened by Turiaf and then bouncing right back up off the floor.

Did anyone else notice that when Kobe got laid out he stayed on the floor for a while?

The Jazz play best when they get a little nasty in their play. Some might call it dirty. But to me it's the mental toughness the Jazz need in order to win this series. They have got to go down to LA with the idea that they won't be denied a win.

And Kudos to Kirilenko for playing Kobe tough on defense.

Did you hear Jackson's comment at the news conference after the game. He said 6 games and this series is over. Does he and the Refs know something we don't know. Sounds like the Lakers are buying another championship.

CP3 and D-Will are among the best point guards in the NBA. Their stats are virtually the same.

How lucky are NBA fans to watch two great young players?

I've enjoyed watching Deron ever since he figured out how to cut down on turnovers. You simply cannot try risky passes in the NBA -- the players are too long and too quick. Now Deron seems to be in control most of the time, and he has a great combination of scoring and passing skills and doesn't overuse either. I also like his attitude, which is brought out in part by his rejection in All Star voting. Do you think NBA fans next year will continue to vote for over-the-hill Jason Kidd while Deron has passed the up-and-coming stage? Deron is probably among the top four point guards in the league. I would put him up there with CP3, Nash and Chauncey. Kidd is a bit too slow and can't shoot well enough for me to put him in the top 4.

What is up with putting Farmar in the same category as Paul, Nash, Kidd, and Williams? Also rvalens2 gives Kobe too much credit: he didn't stay down on the court after getting laid out, it was after he twisted his ankle when he was really playing to the cameras. I think even T-mac would've got up after that. Let's go Jazz! Take it to em in L.A.!

Head to head, isn't Deron like 8 and 2 against Paul? That is quite a telling stat.

The Jazz don't play nearly as dirty as the Jazz fans.

I think whether or not Deron gets love on the all-star ballot next year you are right, he is one of the top 4-5 point guards in the league. I think next year Nash and Kidd will continue their decline, Kidd more so than Nash, and I think Billups is starting to feel his years also. Going into next season here is how I would rate the top 5 point guards
1. Paul
2. Nash (he's on the downhill, but still amazing)
3. Williams
4. Billups
5. Parker

One reson I love what has happened in this years playoffs is because it looks like the Jazz are finally becoming Deron Williams team. I think because Boozer had more experience and played so well last year that there was the assumtion that he was the cornerstone of the team and the one everyone looked to for leadership. The problem with that is Boozer is not a natural leader on the court, he just isn't. Williams is, and the sooner the Jazz players and coaches acknowlege that this team revolves around Williams and not Boozer the sooner they can get on with the buisness of winning championships.

Hey Care-Less Boozer, Deron Williams Is the MAN on this team. Your in like 3rd or 4th on this team. Just the same way N.O. hornets let Chris Paul run that show and be the team leader. Nice Win Jazz, lets face it. The refs deside who wins these home games, and they want M.V.P. Kobe and BIG MARKET LAKERS IN THE FINALS VS CELTICS, PLEASE, THIS All ABOUT MONEY AND THE T.V. I agree with BOOZER comment. Deron Williams is the leader on the Jazz team not Boozer and for whatever reason wannabe or believes he is the leader, D-WILL makes the Jazz sing sweet tunes.

Unfortunatley, I completely agree w/ the guy above (except for the Boozer remark)we wouldn't be here right now if boozers wasn't in the top 4 for the most Double, doubles) I do agree, It's all about the ratings. The league & stern both want to see a Celtic & Laker repeat!!! & we'll definantly see it by the refs in the next couple of games. I mean seriously, who can actually blame the refs for betting on games & making few xtra benjamins when the game is so ploitical anyways. Sad thing is, the lakers & any other Jazz hater out ther always use the # 1 insult as :How many championships do the Jazz have" Despite bad we kick there Butts. The Jazz have always had to play 3 time better than the opposing team when it comes down to it in order for us to compensate for the calls..

parker is better than billups. Sure billups is clutch, but parker can create from anywhere on the court, at almost any time.

I just love Deron's performance! Go Jazz!
