Oh yea! | 5:23 p.m. May 10, 2008
What a night! What a game! That's what fun is made of! Jazz beating Lakers...oh yea! It was great to see the Jazz playing their game...
Rock on Boozer!

Lakers will probably poor it on heavy tomorrow. Another Jazz victory would be soooo sweet! Kobe had some amazing moves last night, I have respect for his ability, but not the man...at least not yet.
RE: Sokol | 6:31 p.m. May 10, 2008
I'll tell you what more you can ask for an NBA championship. Enjoy your your team and be happy.
JT | 6:33 p.m. May 10, 2008
I think the Jazz will make it a series but they need Kobe to reinjure his pinky or Fisher to reinjure his foot to have a shot at actually winning it. It's been a great year though.

RE: Boozers Back | 6:35 p.m. May 10, 2008
Talk about two faced just two days ago Jazz fans were wanting to trade Boozer, now your on here throwing kisses at him. Your not only two faced your a hypocrite!.
Re; D will for real | 6:42 p.m. May 10, 2008
I know exactly what he wrote, bottom line it was lame. He makes a list of great players that came out of Utah and all the LDS players. He slid around the fact that none of them are originally from Utah and he didn't bother to mention there are no LDS players on the Jazz, including the coach. although he mentions all teh LDS palyers, he wants the reader to somehow assume it. All missleading information, what a joke.
Bigjazzfan | 8:09 p.m. May 10, 2008
Don't kid yourselves, boozer is NOT back.

One great game in a month and half does not constitute "back".

He's a mediocre star at best and can never be truly counted on. Only the "greats" can truly be counted on.

And ultimately he will disappoint and let you down.
It's who is. who he has always been.

Nor should anyone with any sense ever build a team around such a player. if he were a third or fouth option and played defense he might be okay.

I would love to sse the jazz win championship. But until they build their team right it will never happen.

It's all just wishin and hopin.

Championships don't just happen.

And one more player won't help unless they a first team nba-er.

A little more experience won't help. It didn't help stockton and malone. You either have "it" or you don't.

And a ref call or two won't make difference either. You can get the job done or you can't.

It's obvious (to those who choose to see):
Jazz need a big man who can defend.
A shooting guard who is a star and can defend the perimeter and shoot the three.

trade boozer!

Now, if the league would only enforce the rules. Kobe's little cheap shot elbow there toward the end of the game should warrant a suspension. Not that the league would ever even consider that with the coddled little brat, but the dirtiness wears thin real fast. It's no wonder I can only handle the NBA for a little while during the playoffs.
Re: Bigjazz fan | 9:03 p.m. May 10, 2008
What about Deron Williams? He has shown that he can get the job done when he needs to the most. Just look at last year's playoffs as well as this year against Houston. In my eyes HE'S the one the Jazz should be building around. Keep in mind also that even MJ didn't win a title for the first 1/3 of his career and he had plenty of doubters before his time came.

As for Boozer, how many more games will it take for you until you consider him to be back? two or three of these? I think to myself that if I was Boozer, I'd be feeling a lot more confident in this series now than I was previously, and that's gonna make a big difference.
Lakers $$$ and Star Power | 9:07 p.m. May 10, 2008
The NBA has been wishin' and waitin' a long time for another Michael, Bird, Magic or Dr. J.

They've been pushing Kobe for a long time, even gave him and undeserved MVP this year. If the Jazz knock the Lakers out, Stern stands to lose a ton of money...

It goes back even to Michael's push.

It's not whining, just face it. The NBA is Pro Wrestling on steroids.

I just feel bad Boller-hack and the "Booner" weren't such sell-outs.
re One is the loneliest number | 9:20 p.m. May 10, 2008
a city that refuses to have sunday games? Come on man. If you weren't so stereotypical I might give your comment some credit. Oh, and great one about the ten wives, I have NEVER heard that one before. I thought it was the polygamist community in Texas, not SLC, that was raided. Just cause we get a little louder than your star studded stomach staple center doesnt mean we are all freaks! You better win game 5 or its Jazz in six pal!
Sneaky Jimmy | 9:26 p.m. May 10, 2008
I really hope Harpring knocks tobe's teeth out next game. Someone needs to retaliate if the refs refuse to police the game. That elbow was thrown with intent to harm. If it was done in a club it would be assault and battery. The fakers need to be taught a lesson. I only wish the Jazz had the fore site to put "Haffa" on the roster for the playoffs.
Bigjazzfan | 10:22 p.m. May 10, 2008
Deron is nice player but no mj. And someone will always be considered better than him.

Face it the jazz have no defense.

They have no perimeter defense, this won't change because the system won't change, (which leaves the perimeter defense as an after thought), because the coaching won't change.

They have no interior defense,

Their success is mainly based on out scoring the other team or hopin the other team has a bad shooting day.

Those teams don't win championships. lack of defense always catches up. Phoenix and nuggets have been trying this for years.

Championships teams have these things in common:

star shooting guard who can shoot the three.
Jazz don't have this

Big defensive bigmen 6'10 an bigger
Jazz don't have this.

A solid or great point guard.
The jazz do have this,

A bunch of solid contributors and shooters
Jazz have some, if brewer, AK, boozer were bench players. or boozer was a third or fourth option.

The only thing you can say when it comes to championship teams jazz are a half-%#* one.

Championships don't happen you make them happen.

You don't draft in the middle of the first round and hope and wish.

Bijazzfan | 10:30 p.m. May 10, 2008
When say I someone will always be considered better than deron, I Mean he will never be first team nba.

A nash or a chris paul will always be considered better or someone else will come along.

Thats okay, he is a very fine point one the best in the league. And that's enough for you point guard position.

But alone it is not enough to win a championship.

He needs interior defense and help defending the perimeter. And shooters, and really another "real" star on the team. boozer just doesn't cut it. You can't count on him game like could a "real" star.

At certainly not as one of your top two players.

And he is a big liabilty defensively, especially from a position that requires it, to win championships.
Dick of the NW | 10:32 p.m. May 10, 2008
Hey folks. Don't ya get a little tired of "my dad can beat up your dad" comments. If each team had 12 perfect players, the last team with the ball would win each game. How often have you seen a player in a game do what kobe did with that play ground move; hit the board get it and put it back. Kobe has gained my respect until he was yelling at his team mates for them trying to win too. With all the money and star power in LA, it seems they can't stand it if they don't get their way in a BB game. Sometimes too much isn't enough. For Utah, it's great to have an owner that knows it's TEAM that is important and VALUES. It is the value of the journey and the experience gained from it that counts. It makes for great smack. Let's enjoy the experience but not let it detract from who we are and who we are not.
game 6, game 7 | 10:33 p.m. May 10, 2008
LAKERS! Deron Williams is holding his though. David Archuleta have a better chance at taking it. It's sad because I like the Jazz... but you J-fans make it hard with ya'll annoying comments. Wouldnt mind Jazz winning but go all the way to the Finals
One is the loneliest number | 10:42 p.m. May 10, 2008
That's the first I heard anything about "freaks." Thanks for pointing out that my comments were stereotypical and unoriginal. That was the point; that there really isn't much else to brag about in regard to Utah generally, and the Jazz specifically. But the guy who tried to list Utah's exceptional stars made the point even stronger, so I'll just leave it at that.

Lakers in 5 in LA | 10:45 p.m. May 10, 2008
Get off the 'star treatment' and 'collusion' conspiracy theories, it's getting tired. If either were truly the case, don't you think there would have been some sort of intervention at some point either internally within the league office (neither could be carried out by person alone) or externally by your team's officials (I didn't hear anything about the Jazz sending tapes into the league office, but if they did the tapes would be reviewed by more than just one person whom is likely not solely David Stern). As for the case of star treatment (to the extent you portray it), surely at least one ref would not go along with it and rat the others out. In order for your theories to be correct, there would have to be a whole lot more collusion going on than a reasonable person should be willing to accept. Just submit to the truth, it beats delusion.
SantaBarbaraJazzFN | 11:23 p.m. May 10, 2008
What amazes me is D-Wills selection to the All NBA 2nd team but couldnt make the Allstar roster?

Statistics dont lie, the jazz are killing the Lakers on all important stats:
Rebounds, offensive and defensive; points in the paint; field goals attempt and made; as well as less TOs (35-45 this is important as the Jazz have been consistent in the 3 games so far).

As a HS basketball official, I can tell you I have the authority to decide the outcome of a game. FTs 126-74 over 3 games in favor of LA, is simply a joke.

I dont believe in conspiracy however when you have the NBA Commission on National TV commenting on how nice it is to have the revival of LA and Boston is very interesting.

Finally my wish is to see the series outcome with equal or close to equal FTs. My guess would be blowout games in favor of the Jazz.
I'm also a HS ref | 11:40 p.m. May 10, 2008
And you Santa Barbara Jazz fan should be banned from being a ref. You don't have the authority to decide games, the players do that. You my friend are corrupt and a cheater. Thank godness your not reffing these games. The bottom line is the Jazz foul more than any team in the NBA not just against the Lakers. But I'm sure you would try to change that by cheating.
Rich | 11:58 p.m. May 10, 2008
As expected, the Jazz did much better in SLC than in LA. When I replayed the game, I noticed about 12 calls that probably would have gone the other way in LA. Thus, I'm confident LA would have won if the game had been played in LA. I'm hoping the refs don't take away this home court advantage in Game 4, because they're highly unlikely to call things fair in Game 5, especially with the MVP on the Lakers. Hopefully Boozer has his confidence back and will continue to play well. He even played some pretty good defense on Friday.
To Lakers in 5 in LA | 12:10 a.m. May 11, 2008
Who's delusional?

I've seen cheating in high school games, and not just opinion but actual cheating. Refs allowing a team to exchange free throw shooters in the final seconds. That was for state championship.
Bob Knight is quoted as saying "if the fans new how much goes on behind the scenes they would never watch another game." talking about college basketball. You only have to recall the Duke/Maryland final four game to realize this.
So in the pros, where there is millions to billions of dollars at stake, millions of dollars in one playoff game, the league is going to leave it all to chance? Its all for the good of sports. lol! Not to mention the ref who was actually caught cheating.(oh, but he's the only one)
Again, who is delusional.
D Will | 12:20 a.m. May 11, 2008
Yes it is quite funny that you can be on the All NBA team but not make the all star team.

As for BigJazzFan: Its impressive the run CP is having. But it is similar to Magic/Bird. Sure Magic had his moments. Won the National Title, won NBA title. But in the end everyone new that Bird was the better player, better coach etc. Same with CP/DWill. CP will have his moments in the media, but everyone knows DWill is the better player. IE look at the head to head match-up. Their is no comparison.

So nobody will win the championship this year?
Boston has no point guard, Detroit has liabilities for Big Men, Cleveland has more holes than Utah.
I hope you don't consider gasol and odem as dominant Big Men, and Fisher does not compare to anyone at point. NO has a point, but there big men are no better then Utahs. And lastly, Spurs, have the point and PF but MG? They may be the closest. There is no special ingredients, just hope things fall your way, some have preferential treatment, ie the spurs, bulls and this year the lakers. But you can overcome that hopefully, ie the Pistons/Lakers final. Nobody wanted Pistons to win, they were upstarts, but they beat the odds by playing a team game. Now they are respected and they get the calls. Thats what it is about.
