@ STEP IT UP
Maybe you should check out Memo's stats! I think he has stepped up his game big time in the playoffs. He's getting about 5 more rebounds a game in the playoffs as opposed to the regular season. Deron's assists are down simply because people aren't making shots... but I think he's played just as well in the playoffs.
I think only Harpring and Boozer have slumped off in the playoffs and that's been the difference in the 4th quarter of these first 2 games.
If you are trying to come to Boozer's aid pointing fingers at other JAZZ players isn't going to get you anywhere. Like sloan keeps saying... the Jazz are a TEAM and they all need to step up. They've all gotta come to play tonight.

funny how everyone got onto McGrady for not taking responsibility for his failures...I have heard nothing but honesty from Boozer, admitting he has to work some things out and everyone is all over his case...cut him some slack or he will never pull out of it.

Come on Jazz fans, support your team! Even Lebron James is in a funk, doens't mean the end of the world. I hope we blow out the Lakers tonight and maybe someone on the TNT crew would say a few kind words about our team instead of the 32 remarks on Kobe's MVP. That was sure biased. Did they remember there was another team playing that night? Good luck my boys!

I didn't see anybody defended AK last year the same way you are defending Boozer, I wonder why? At least Ak showed some emotions and he was hurt becaus the way he played, Boozer seems like he doesn't even care, and he called Ak out last year.

I am just glad the "s" word wasn't "sweep"

Why can't the Jazz put the ball in the hole? Everytime they are under the basket it gets swatted away. GO HARD!

RE: Pot calling the kettle. I couldn't agree with you more. Boozer played great for 82 games and now there are idiot Jazz fans who want him out? Wow!! Let's say you do well in your career for an entire 6 months then you have a couple of off weeks, according to our idiot Jazz fans you should be fired. Come on people, get real. I hope this isn't how you all treat the rest of your family and friends. If things are good then you are cool with everyone, but once something bad happens you are the first to point fingers and start the negativity. That doesn't sound like a healthy thought process to me. GO JAZZ!!! (Even if they do make mistakes).

As I said yesterday, let's see if we can get him to change his name to Carlos Loozer.

re :Steve-O

D-Will does not get a pass for his disappearing act in the first half of game 2. He ought to be embarrased what Fish has done to him in this series. He can't defend the old Fish? He could not score on him either. Sure he dropped some deep bombs late game 2 to pile up some stats but that was after the outcome had basically been decided. Where was that when his team was struggling offensively?

Deron owns responsibility for getting this team into its offense and he miserably failed in the first half of both games. Ultimately those offensive deficits were too big to come back from.

You won't win against a good flaker team playing 3 of the 4 quarters.

Deron has not showed the ability to control the tempo of games thus far. It has been Fisher dictating the pace--which is a sad statement. Fisher has stole the ball, Fish has disrupted, Fish has got his team fast breaking.

If D-Will does not make a BIG showing here in SLC and win both these games for his team via scoring or assisting then the CP3 vs. D-Will debate will officially be over.

While the Jazz have not played their best, they have crawled their way back within contention in the fourth quarter of games 1and2. This is something to take into account. A team that didn't believe in itself would not be able to do this. I think the Jazz still have a good chance in this series. Game 3 may set the tone for the rest of the series. I again remind you (for those who didn't follow the Jazz in the 80s and 90s): It took Stockton, Malone, and Company many trials to get to the Finals. This team is extremely young. Harpring and Hart are the only ones aged 30! Kobe and his pals have finals experience. The Jazz need to continue to work hard and have commitment (both from management and from players). They'll have a good chance to win it all. Either now or in the near future. There is no MJ in the league. Kobe, Lebron, KG are all great; but none of them are anything like MJ. That guy and his teams would have stopped any team that has recently won a championship. Best wishes to the Jazz for a successful game 3! Go Jazz.
Look at it this way | 12:45 p.m. May 9, 2008
At least the first 3 minutes of the 1st quarter have been intertaining and we had leads then. Then along comes Boooooooooooo-zer with his awesome and inspiring defense, shooting, fouling, nail breaking, and leadership (it was his team at the beginning of the season you know).

Quit making excuses for this lazy millionare player. He has punked the Jazz and the Jazz fans. His defense has sucked all year. Yes he may have had 20+ points per game, but how many points did the player he was pretending to defend score. There were many games that his point production was under what he allowed. I don't care if he scores as long as he mans up and defends.

And slown, (misspelling intended) call time outs when the game is STARTING to slip away. Quit saving the time outs for after the game. Quit benching hot players, quit sub-ing according to clock and quit being so predictable. Fish knows your plays better than your players do.

Jazz fan, don't boo Fish, that is like throwing a match on gasoline.
re: LooZer | 12:58 p.m. May 9, 2008
Are you 12?
longtimejazzfan | 1:12 p.m. May 9, 2008
I know that the article is about Boozer lack of production but if you look at the stats the entire team is not focused and consequently not producing. There is a hesitancy to take open shots (ie. Millsap) and rather force a pass through a players hands who is already covered.

The entire team needs to take shots in rhythm and if you miss there is a chance for a rebound. Bad passes lead to fast breaks.

The other major effort is to set hard picks and not roll out of them every time - Boozer & Okur. You have to mix it up but if Williams gets some good open looks he will start off stronger and then we do not need to get in a hole.
The Ghost of Maravich | 1:37 p.m. May 9, 2008
If Boozer scores at least 22 points tonight, the Jazz
win. If Williams has more than 5 assists by half time and more than 8 points, the Jazz win.
If Korver hits a three by half time, the Jazz win.
Wow Jazz "fans" | 2:02 p.m. May 9, 2008
Wasnt it just three short years ago that Boozer was all the rage? Gie him a break. you guys are bandwagon fans. he'll show up. Malone went through the same thing
Confused | 2:08 p.m. May 9, 2008
Wasn't it Williams and Boozer last year calling out fellow players for not showing up and getting ready for the summer last year?

Well, I think the other players should call out those two for wanting to packing it in early.

It sure does not appear they want to proceed to the finals
another "s" word .... | 2:10 p.m. May 9, 2008
There is another "s" word that applies even more than slump - it's called "SWEEP". Expect the Lakers to SWEEP the Jazz.
Fonzie Lopez | 2:13 p.m. May 9, 2008
Utah jazz all the way tonite, you guys will see that D-Will an Booze will destroy the Fakers, Go Jazzzzz, GOooo !!

your delusional if you think dwill has played at his normal level....i couldn't agree more with moto x...has dwill been terrible--absolutely not..darn good in fact-'at times'....however, he's not played at his usual dwill level which we need to win...others that have played below normal levels as well... in no specific order, they are price, korver, kirilenko, and harpring and of course, the worst of the worst has been booze.....milsap was at about his normal level game 2 vs la, but overall in playoffs, he's on the list as well....memo and brewer have been solid..i said it once and i'll say it again in case you weren't listening steve-o....win as a 'team', lose as a 'team'.....don't lay it all on one player...everyone, from the ball boys to lhm to sloan needs to step it up the next two games because a loss at home and it's over.....

Re: re: LooZer

No, I am 12 and 3/4 thank you very much. I turn 13 in August.
re: Ghost of Maravich | 2:36 p.m. May 9, 2008
...if the southern stars align in the western house, Jazz win...if the 2nd cycle of jupiter overshadows the eastern skies, the Jazz win...

Keep telling yourself that.

The Lakers are 5-1 against Utah this year. Even before the playoffs the Lakers owned the Jazz. The Jazz took 1 game in the regular season so I can see them taking a game...maybe 2 if the Lakers wake up late. But no way this goes past 6 games.

Lakers win tonight - Jazz win game 4 and Lakers close out in LA. Mostly the Jazz will win game 4 because the Lakers want the final game to be in LA so they can hear the cheers.
START MILSAP | 3:08 p.m. May 9, 2008
Hey Sloan wise up and Start Milsap. At least Milsap acts like he wants to win a game!!!!!

If the bear is reading this please take your Harley over to the Laker bench and rev it up a couple hundred times just to tick Philly boy off. Thanks
Bye | 5:24 p.m. May 9, 2008
I bet Booze is already looking forward to playing golf starting early next week.
RE Fair Weather Boozer Fans | 5:34 p.m. May 9, 2008
It surprizes me that you would even say that you cant believe that the Jazz fans would throw Boozer under the bus just because of a shooting slump. Maybe you didnt read your own papers when Koby was threatening to leave .... many many Laker fans were doing the same thing. These guys make way too much money to not contribute their best effort every time they step on the floor. Thats all we expect and if they come up short it wont be because they didnt try. Boozer's effort is what's in question here. He needs to go to the basket and play the position that he is paid to play. His softness is what we are criticizing not an off game or two. So to all the Lakers fans who contribute comments here .... I think we watch a few more Jazz games than you do and are qualified to comment here. Not sure we cna say the same for you.

@ Step up & MOTO X
Williams has struggled in this series I'll give you that. But Derek Fisher is a tough player and a solid defender who practiced against Williams every day for a year. We're not talking about Carlos Arroyo here... Derek Fisher has 3 championship rings and he's been a big part of all of them. Williams took over the Rockets series when he needed to and got us to this round while Boozer slumped off the whole series! The difference in Williams and Boozer is this: BOTH of them had a HORRIBLE first half in game 2, but Williams came out in attack mode in the second half and DID in fact get the Jazz into their offense. He pushed the ball, dunked the ball, and got others involved. I think we can all agree that it's CLEAR Williams has a strong desire to win. Something Boozer may lack. Williams is quick to take resposibility for a loss, or a bad play. Boozer doesn't! I'm just kind of ranting here... but I think after tonights game we'll all be on here talking about how D-Will stepped up and took charge of the team.

Everyone has a very good reason to dump on boozer.

He supposed one of our two star players.

brewer is not our star player, harpring is not our star player, korver is not our star player, etc.

Boozer is supposed to be that star player and deron too.

And as such, bear more repsonsiblity than any other player on the team.

He's failed, and deserves all the criticism he gets.

And don't fool yourselves into thinking he so responsible for the jazz success in the regular season.

He has showed time and time again he doesn't make a difference, any gains the jazz got from his 21 point average were negated by his defense.

You MUST have defense from your bigmen.

The jazz success has been more dependent on every one else stepping up making up for his deficencies.

And now they can't do it it is showing quite clearly.

You don't build around second rate stars and expect a first rate results.

And don't kid yourselves either that the jazz would fall apart without slaon. That's just fantasy and blind sloan worship.

If the jazz want to win a championship boozer and sloan must go.
