Hey Phil and the rest of the laker clan...

Stop all this whining.....

Play Ball already!

Would you like some cheese with the whine? Perhaps you should take a tour of Wisconsin right after this series, as you are going to be eliminated by the UTAH JAZZ!! There you can enjoy nice cheese and crackers to go with that whine!!

I am just amazed at how many times aposing teams whine about how basketball is supposed to be played.

The only thing worse than the way the Lakers whine, is the San Antonio Spurs playing Hack-A-Shaq! What is up with that, play ball the way it supposed to be played...Shut your mouth and PLAY HARD...

It's called the PLAY-OFFS

It's supposed to be rough and tough!!

Phil, as a typical whiney, liberal loser, I sympathize with you.

Phil (The KING) Jackson | 5:58 a.m. May 7, 2008
Ever notice the High Chair that King Jackson sits on in the ESA??? It is literally a throne for which he can sit above everyone else. (No kidding - look at it and you'll see).

King Jackson is such a great coach too! He only takes teams that have hardly any talent and then literally molds them into that championship caliber level. Jordan? Shaq? Kobe? No way mister, it's ALL about King Jackson and his sven-like genius.

I dare say that King Jackson is the BEST coach ever.

@ Power House and John Kerry
My style seems to be working. So far we have accomplished more than the Jazz. Better record this season, an MVP, quality athletes, more rings than your Sloan (even without MJ my teams have done more). I even get people like you frazzled by my
distractions. What's Jerry accomplished in the play-offs, other than live on the chronic hopes of an eventual championship? Hey Utah, you gotta luv it baby.

Phil likes to take credit for a bunch of things he didn't do. It's no surprise that he won't take credit for losing on the road either.

If Jackson is such a great coach where have the lakers been the last few years. I am no b-ball expert but Jackson is one concieted person that really does not do that much to earn his reputation but make sure he is where he has superstars. No he ran pretty quick after micheal was gone, if you did not see that your blind.

Phil is afraid of Utah? I guess he should be. . . I mean after all he only beat them in utah in the finals with the bulls. Then he ended their home streak this year . . .Jazz Fans have so much Laker envy it's funny.

Kobe | 8:26 a.m. May 7, 2008
Phil is a good coach i will give you that much. But Kobe, a good player, okay, he has good skills, but when it comes to team ball Kobe couldn't spell team, he is a selfish ball hog. That is why the Jazz will find a way to win the series and move on.

This series will be a lot less closer than most think. I'd be shocked if Utah wins 2 games at home!

re: If So | 9:06 a.m. May 7, 2008
To answer your question: Jackson has been with the Lakers which brings up 3 points.

1. He rejoined the Lakers even when they weren't winning. So that goes against the argument that he'll only go to a team if he expects a win. He agreed to coach the team with just Kobe and Odom. They only got Gasol at the end of the season and Bynam hadn't developed yet. So, even with a team of just Kobe and Odom, Phil Jackson still took the job.

2. The Lakers were in the exact same spot as the Jazz were the last 2 years, in the playoffs. Of course they didn't go on to win those two years like the Jazz did . . . oh yeah, the Jazz didn't win either. So they were pretty much in the same place the Jazz were.

3. Actually Jackson didnt' run when Michael was gone. Jordan retired (the first time) and Jackson stayed with the Bulls for 2 years with just Pippen until Jordan returned. Then after Jordan retired again and Pippen and Kerr left he retired and didn't unretire for a few years.

Lame comments shouldn't be allowed on the comment board.

Yep he's afraid. He is easily the biggest whiner in the entire league. He's NOT a good coach, he doesn't even really do anything. He ends up in places that have amazing players, then takes all the glory. How were the Lakers before they had Gasol and company? Just another team. And now apparently Jackson is amazing. Right. Keep thinking that while he keeps whining and getting free rings.

Phil is just preparing his excuses for when he loses here at ESA. It is everyones fault but his own.

For somebody who has won as much as he has you think maybe he could man-up and cut down on the whining and the "o wo is me" crap. Its a really old song at this point.

If Phil does not have "the player" on the floor who gets ALL the superstar phantom foul calls then life seems really difficult for Phil. Then again, he seems to act like it still is even if he has the best player. He can't be content with that--he still needs to whine some more and remind the refs that he and "his player" should get all the bogus calls to ensure his tainted victory.

Heaven forbid he actually coached a team on a level playing field with the rest of the league.

He is nothing more than an example of "right place, right time". Shaq, Kobe, and Jordan? Just like vegas, the deck was stacked in somebodys favor.

Jackson is so whiny that I almost think he comes from a Ute background. My favorite time was during the finals ten years ago when he was whining so badly that it was too loud. He seriously wanted the league to do something to quiet the fans down. What a class act. He is a good coach that can get some of the worst attitudes to work together, but he is trash without at least two or three superstars (notice the at least).

Phil, A "Great" Coach? | 9:25 a.m. May 7, 2008
I don't think so. He's had the benefit of having some of the greatest players EVER on his teams, that's it, there's nothing more. Can you imagine if MJ, Shaq, or even Kobe played for the Jazz - Jerry Sloan would have been COY several times over, and there would be a dozen championship banners hanging in the rafters at the ESA. Jerry can out-coach Phil any day of the week and has proven it time & time again. Great players Great Coach.

I'm so sick of Phil Jackson | 10:07 a.m. May 7, 2008
He complains when he wins, he complains when he loses, and he isn't as great of a coach as everyone thinks. Sure he's won multiple titles, but look at the players he had on his teams. Michael Jordan, Bryant, & O'Neal. He couldn't win squat without Jordan and hasn't done anything for the Lakers since O'Neal left. He's the type of guy who thinks eveyone else's crap stinks but his own. I guess he's perfect for the shallow and self serving confines of LA. and it's residents

RE: re: if so

You are absolutely right, YOUR lame comments should not be allowed on the message board.

Phil jumped off of that sinking Bulls ship as soon as the Lakers came to him with bags of money and two of the biggest stars in the game (Kobe and Shaq) and don't pretend like if the offer was right he wouldn't have done it again.

Sloan on the other hand stayed at the helm of his ship, saw it through the stormy years, and he didn't have the best player in the world to build around, he had AK and Matt Harpring, and now his team back on track to the top of the league and the NBA Finals.

THE JAZZ ARE ONE OF THE YOUNGEST TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE.

I just wanted to type that loudly for all of you Apocolypse Now types who think that the Jazz will never get another chance at a championship if they don't win one this year. There are alot of good years of Utah basketball yet to come.

Silly | 10:13 a.m. May 7, 2008
Your comments are ridiculous. Phil Jackson has won nine titles-- that's the most ever. Ten if you count the one he won as a player. And no one wins a title without superstars. He has outcoached virtually every coach in the league, and is a super intelluctual guy.

And Dave, the fans in the ESA are without exception the least informed fans in the NBA. The absolute bottom of the league. It it unbeleivable you would even make that comparison. Phil always does this before a series-- maybe if you knew anything about Phil Jackson you would know that

Jazz fans vs. facts | 10:17 a.m. May 7, 2008
Jazz fans always claim that Kobe's a ballhog but please explain how he's any different from LeBron, McGrady, Iverson, Anthony, Jordan etc?

This year alone:
Kobe's 10th in the playoffs for assists (6.4 vs. Deron Williams 8.6) and 28th in the league for the regular season with 5.4 asts. #10 - #28 is only a 1.5 ast difference so it's pretty close.

Kobe's 2nd in FGA (20.6 FGA) behind LeBron (21.9). The difference between 1st and 25th is only 6 FGA and Boozer has 16 FGA. Does 5 more shots than Boozer make Kobe a ballhog?

Kobe's 7th in FTA (9 FTA) behind LeBron, Howard, Iverson, Wade, Martin and Maggette. So he's aggressive but no more than any other star in the league.

So. . . he has a good APG average, FGA and FTA are in line with every other all-star. Won the MVP so the experts thought he was pretty valuable to his team. If you disregard the MVP vote then you need to discredit the Malone win.

The only answer Jazz fans can give is "well . . .he's still a ballhog" then you take your marbles and run home.
