Judging by David's popularity with 'tweens and teens, I'll be going nowhere near Murray on Friday! Can you say "traffic jam?"

Judging by the frenzied popularity of David Archuleta among 'tweens and teens, I won't be going anywhere near Murray on Friday. Can you say "traffic jam?"

David Archuleta is awesome! I got hooked on A.I. this year in large part because of him. What a great kid!

Thanks for an article that goes past David's cuteness and mass appeal. I am neither tween nor grandma, and not necessarily a fan of AI or any TV show for that matter, but a Harvard graduate student who has witnessed first hand the healing nature of art and music in the lives of high risk youth. I chanced upon an article about David and his version of Imagine, and like so many others, have come to marvel at someone who sings from his soul and understands the power of song. Pure goodness such as this is rare and lucky are we to witness it.

Wow, too much analysis for me. Thanks for your insight (Harvard Grad)...David is a great singer, but I think the other David has got the "it" factor to win the competition. Go Murray! Go David A. enjoy the festival and I certainly look forward to hearing him sing at the Jazz game.

Dave (not Archuleta) | 12:56 p.m. May 6, 2008
Re: "RE:Lil Me"

I don't think Lil Me was attempting to give any insight. I think they were simply stating that they are pleased that the article didn't go on about how "cute" D.A. is.

I figured that out and didn't go to Harvard... but perhaps I should have.

People who say his fans are only the tweens are ignorant. Very very ignorant.

As far as David Cook, yes he's the pick by AI producers to win this year. They will do anything and everything to make him win this year including throw little D. under the bus.

Whatever they do though, they can't deny Archulets'a mass appeal and popularity, and great talent. His career has started, no one can stop that.

David Archuleta has talent looks and not only that he is a very genuine soul. People who say bad things about him are just jealous. I hope David will be our next american idol!

I like Archuleta because he is someone I can respect. Music is more meaningful when it comes from individuals with true character.

I think if AI would have let David A sing what he wanted, he would have been the unanamous winner. If he does not win I will still buy CDS of his.May the LORD be with him.

David has a very good voice but honestly I do not think he will have success at certain venues. To me he sounds like a person that you would go listen to in an ampitheatre or an auditorium setting instead of something like The McKay Events Center at UVU. He is seems more like the type that I would go to a nice dinner wearing a tie then to see him but would not wear jeans. but don't get me wrong he is very good.

David Cook? | 2:48 p.m. May 6, 2008
I just don't know how people think he is original. He looks and sounds just like the bands I used to hang out with. I had a roommate who played in a local band and I would hang out with a lot of local small touring bands and he looks and sounds just like them. He is not original at all.

What do you mean, the producers have chosen David Cook, etc? Is this the rumor or something? I haven't heard it yet. It doesn't matter if David Archuleta wins or not (and he really should) I think his future will be very bright. I am a Murrayite and I am so proud to say this young man lives in my hometown!

Well in my eyes David Archuleta is already an American Idol! He's a good kid and I wouldn't mind my kids listening to his CD's. In fact I would even buy them for my kids and me to listen too. WAY TO GO DAVID!!

At this point I don't think it matters whether its David A or David C that wins it. I can't see David A selling out concerts, but then again I couldn't imagine Carrie Underwoods success either. Nobody has a crystal ball. I wish them all the best and hope the biz doesn't ruin them.

As far as I am concerned David Archuleta is the ONLY choice for Idol! He exemplifies what an IDOL should be: Talented beyond his years, a kind and generous soul, compassionate and just an excellent role model! I wish him all the luck and I am certain he will have a wonderful career!! I have never been a fan or watched American Idol until I seen him sing one evening--Now I NEVER miss it!
