Mapleton native's band may be 'next big thing'

Hey, Murillo, take it from somebody who used to be famous -- fame is not worth pursuing. Enjoy performing for its own sake, accept the fame, but don't let it change you as a person. Keep your standards and keep your friends and be loyal to your family, making them proud not just when you're in the limelight but when you're backstage. For all you'll have left in the end will be your family and true friends, who care about you the person and not as you the famous entertainer.

Elizabeth, you forgot the question we're all dying to ask, Where did the name "V Factory" come from?

My guess: It's a trendy shortening of the old "VF Factory Outlet" mall in Draper.

That picture is priceless! "From the mean streets of Mapleton, Utah comes the hardest boy band around - V Factory!" I think my favorite is the kid on the left in the members only jacket - he's the requisite bad facial hair, trying to be tough boy band guy. Priceless.

I love it when little boys sing to me about their idea of love and heart break. Please. Like all boy bands, this group is as manufactured and fake as a Twinkie. Until you can write your own music, you shouldn't be able to call yourself a musician. Just look how "famous" they are and they haven't even release a single, much less an album. You can bet that when popularity comes so quickly, so will anonymity. Enjoy the ride while you can, because you're being used and before you know it, you'll be back out walking the streets looking for another client.

I'm glad that this kid has found success. To be honest, though, all five of them look gay in this picture. The whole "tough as nails" image doesn't work for these boys. Jared is trying so hard to grimace and look tough that it appears he will fall over at any moment from holding his breath.

I have a hard time respecting "musicians" that don't write their own music or play a musical instrument while performing and rely on looks and dance moves. The headline is misleading, this isn't a band, no drums, bass, piano, guitar, not even a tambourine. It is a singing and dancing group. Hope they enjoy their few months of fame. Boy "bands" are dying, thankfully.

Boy bands are dying? Does that mean I have to take the Back Street Men CD out of my car CD player? It's been in there for the last 12 years. I've listened to it millions of times. I never get sick of that stuff!

These guys are headlining with Menudo? That's a death knell right there. Good luck, guys.

These guys are remarkable! I'd be willing to bet that they will gross at least $15 in ticket sales on Wednesday night!

The concert was great!! V Factory was so fun to watch & listen too!! The other 2 groups I love M&J & 4real were great too. Everybody had so much fun.
