It will be a hard fought battle (as is every game), but we can pull it off. Kobe is a great player, I will give him that, but his attitude sucks and he is flat out ignorant. Players like him and T-Mac will never be compaired to MJ, who actually showed class. Thats why he (MJ) is the greatest of all time, not because he ran around the court fist pumping his chest like a gorilla.
DOWN DOWN DOWN LAKERS GOIN' DOWN.... DOWN DOWN DOWN LAKERS GOIN' DOWN!
But more than that, he was feeding off HIS TALENT, HIS TEAM, and the opponents arrogance.
No shortage of that, anytime soon.
Go Dare-on, go Jazz!
We LA fans feel so insecure, LA swept the nuggets, finished first in the west, kobe is the MVP, bench takes care of business. Utah fans you are in for a dissapointment although I know deep inside you guys know what will hapeen, LA sweep that's for sure.
LAKERS rule
GO JAZZ.
I predict deron will have a another good game just like he did on friday.
I think this series is going to be awesome. I think the Lakers are playing so well right now but I think they looked a little better than they actually are playing against the Nuggets (that team is a mess).
The Lakers are more consistent than the Jazz, they are not going to just phone in games (like game 5 in Houston). I think we can expect the Jazz to give one game away in this series.
These two team match up very well against each other. The Lakers big advantage is Kobe, the Jazz big advantage is Williams.
I think the wild card in this series is the 3 spot. Walton had a great series against the Nuggets but (this has been said before by others on this board) when AK is active on the defensive end and he scores 10+ points while shooting a high percentage from the field the Jazz are nearly unbeatable.
Jazz win in 7.
go Jazz bring on the title
Phil doesn't even watch the games anymore, he just shows up for a beer and a hotdog.
Jazz in 6.
Hey, all you KOBE fans wear your KOBE jerseys to the ESA so you can find each other after the game and talk about why the Lakers didn't need Shaq.
If that happens i say jazz in 6, otherwise LAKERS in 4...
BJ Jazzy prediction: Game 1 - Win. Game 2 - Loss. Game 3 - Win. Game 4 - Win. Game 5 - Loss. Game 6 - Win. JAZZ IN SIX!
The key will be Andre Kirilenko. If AK can average 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists, 2 steals...Jazz will win the series. This is the statistic that I'm going to be watching. Also key is to shoot 75% as a team from the charity stripe. Last key stat is 40% 3-point shooting as a team.
Keys to victory over LAKERS:
1. AK47 must average: 8,5,3,3,2
2. 75% Free Throw shooting as a team
3. 40% 3-Point shooting as a team
GO JAZZ!!!!!!!
for a giant sized broom. sweeeepooooo!
(google Bluprint for Building an NBA championship team}
2007 1st nba team: Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki
2007 1st team defense: Bruce Bowen, Tim Duncan, Marcus Camby, Kobe Bryant, Raja Bell
Since dallas, suns, nuggets (like nuggets ever had a chance), are out
That leaves the lakers or San Antonio who will win the NBA championship.
Sorry jazz fans but dreaming it won't make so. But getting a first team nba'er will.
And building around a high scoring power forward almost never works unless the are a great great basketball player like duncan (though technically he is a f/c) or elvin hayes or bob petitt
and those players come along about once every 25 years, if that.
Those who are only a great power forwards, like malone, it has never happened.
The real key is great defensive bigmen sourrounded by shooters and scorers, that seems to never fail.
maybe somdeay, probably after sloan is gone, the jazz will realize malones and boozers don't win championships, but the right team will.
you know the funny thing about saying something is never going to happen, it almost always does eventually.
If the Jazz win a championship this year they would be the youngest team to do so in the last 30 years.
You're right of course, winning the championship is a long shot this year, but I don't understand why you spend all your time talking bad about a team that you clearly do not enjoy watching, and clearly have no respect for.
Seems like kind of a depressing state of affairs to me.
Why don't you just come out and admit you are a Spurs fan and end the charade.
I have watched them from the day they moved here.
I want to see the jazz win a championship.
However, The jazz ownership, management, coaches, do not seem interested in winning a championship.
They have done nothing to get the best, which is what you need to win a championship.
They have not gone after any by trade or free agency, they have not put themselves in a position to draft one.
All they have done is whatever is good for business, what will sale t-shirts and tickets. And that is find a way to have winning record and to win a few playoff games. That is not hard, over half the teams every year make the playoffs.
All I want is for them to do what is necessary to win a championship.
Boozer and sloan will win you games but they will never win you championships.
The fact is I'm more of a true fan than you.
You hope a championship will happen.
I want see them make it happen.
from Websters
FAN(N): short for FANATIC. Meaning a person motivated by irrational ENTHUSIASM.
What I hear from you is that you have watched the Jazz for years and never once been able to get exited about them. You've never once thought to yourself "you know, I'm exited about this team, I think we really might have a chance"
I'm a very logical person and I like numbers and indicators of success as much as anybody, but your "the glass is not only half empty but I'm pretty sure it never had anything in it at all" attitude, combined with the fact that you insist on calling youself "a true fan" when you clearly do not know what that means makes me grow tired of your sometimes good but always negative points.
I mean even Sloan Hater takes a break from his vitrol long enough to enjoy the Jazz success and spread a little optimism.
A better word to descrive what you are is an ACTIVIST. YOU ARE A TRUE JAZZ ACTIVIST.
Main Entry: 3fan
Function: noun
Etymology: probably short for fanatic
Date: 1682
1 : an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport or a performing art) usually as a spectator
2 : an ardent admirer or enthusiast (as of a celebrity or a pursuit)
I guess you don't have to be irrational.
If every comment you post is negative, lacks enthusiasm, and shows now admiraation then by definition YOU ARE NOT A FAN!!!!
It's a pretty simple concept, going all political on it and trying to redifine it doesn't change the rarlity of what it is.
President Clinton did have "relations" with his intern,
Water-boarding is torture,
and fans always find a reason to get exited about their team.
