Well said. Huntsman is a wealthy heir who really does not understand the average citizen that pays the cost of government. I was glad that Peter Corroon stood up for the will of the people and respects the role of government. Gov. Huntgman in my opinion is a failure as govenor as he has similar practices as Pres. Bush. A wealthy citizen such as Dave Checketts does not need our subsidy. If money is to be given to Mr. Checketts, the state should have purchased a portion of the team. The state then would garner some of the future revenue as opposed to only participating in the future deficits.

Spot on. The world is upside down with our current set of Republican leaders, who seem bent on abandoning fiscal discipline to spend money we don't have on projects that government has no business sticking its nose into. The soccer stadium is just the most glaring local example. The Iraq war qualifies on the national level.

Many of us life-long Republicans feel the same way. The Republican Congress was turned out on its collective head by following the same reckless spending philosophy that only democratics have historically embraced. Gov. Huntsman will find many of us at the state party convention next week willing to vote against his strange liberal tendencies and extravagant spending. The soccer stadium is but one example of a decision based upon a flimsy, hollywood-sque reasoning just to appease his wife's love of soccer or in other cases, Governor Schwartzaneggar.

Corroon is a great Republican. And one of the few "statesmen" in a world filled with nothing but politicians.

Would that there were more like him, and even just a few within the leadership ranks of our own party.

Huntsman hasn't been perfect, but my goodness, he's gonna win with 65% or more of the vote. Who are these nuts who don't like him?

Amen! I agree.

Huntsman seems to hang his hat on bringing in businesses to utah. What often gets overlooked is how he likes to cut benefits for teachers and state workers. Isn't it interesting how Huntsman and legislators can up their salary yet seem to sneak benefits right out from underneath teachers and state workers. That's how Huntsman pretends to do well, by taking funds where others forget to look.

Don't be thinking it is a bunch of nuts who no longer support Huntsman. There are many in our party that are ready to send him packing. Many of us are chairs and delegates. Huntsman doesn't have near the support he thinks he does.

Governor Huntsman will not get 65% of the vote if people will do their duty, study the issues and candidates and vote for the best person instead of being blinded by party and media. Greg, great article your sentiments have been expressed multiple times by people in this state and I hope that the politicians will be surprised at the people's reaction to being ignored by those elected to represent them and not big business. Kudos to Mayor Corroon.
