Is there a reason he speaks to these woman in a degrading way. I'd be the first one out. I think the WB could have found someone much more handsome.

Come on! The entire show is condescending and patronizing to "country folk". The "farmer" may be well-educated, but he puts his potential mates up to challenges like "BINGO" and "chicken-chasing"? How patronizing and full of sh*t is THAT!Women from this area of the country are NOT immune to fashion, self-sufficiency, and EDUCATION that goes beyond the Agricultural and "good-wife-learnin'" myth of the midwest that this show exploits. Even the bible-thumping ideals that seem to be so important to this bachelor are completely contrived and stereotyped. Quilting and animal husbandry are not any more important to a country-guy than a city guy. JEEZUUS! Guys want the same thing regardless of cultural background. They want an intelligent, well-grounded partner to share their lives with. A girl who cares more about her Prada shoes than her man is an easy target. Girls that can actually hold their own in the hard-working farm environment are looked on as "hicks". Give me a break. This article is crap. Women can be activists and fashion mavens and STILL know how to milk a cow. The producers should be ashamed. I believe Gloria would agree.
