I loved the pregame ritual the Lakers had against the Jazz in 97. Just before
they came out on the floor, the starters faced each other in a circle and, hand
together, chanted "Utah goin' down, goin' down, goin'
down."
Then we swept them. Nice!

I just can't believe that Denver didn't win a game. I guess
that's what happens when you have the biggest ball hogger in your team in
Melo. They didn't even challenge the Lakers. Kobe n co. are going to be
fresh against the JAZZ
Looks like it will be spurs/hornets with spurs going to conf finals again.
I hope we beat the Lakers, I hate them. They cheated their way to get Gasol.

That was a cool article! I've seen them out there having fun before games,

Did anyone watch the pregame to game 3 of the lakers and nuggets? The nuggests
mascot was great. I loved how he sat and read a paper with his back to the
lakers when they were announcing the starters and he did it at the end of the
line that the starters run down. Then the lakers made a circle around him and
started jumping. I love seeing pregame stuff but I love how it is just fun and a
has a few jokes in it.

Hating the lakers is second only to liking the Jazz for Jazz fans, and I doubt
that will ever change. No complaint here--it's impossible not to hate them.

Mark was saying that the Jazz swept the Lakers and their pregame chant right off

This article just shows that CJ is DEFINATELY worth keeping around.
How many NBA guys would have that type of attitude after being treated the way he has!

Jerry Sloan is one of the best coaches in the game. And if you don't
believe me, ask many Hall of Fame players such as Charles Barkley, Michael
Jordan, John Stockton, Magic Johnson, etc. All say that Sloan is one of the best
coaches in the game. Of course, you can probably coach from your couch really
well so who am I to argue?

For the record - we did not sweep the Lakers in 97 - they won one. In 98 we
swept them in the WC Finals. Tonight's game is critical to whether we can
push the Lakers. If Houston forces us to a game 6, we close them out Friday
night...then get crushed in game one at LA Sunday. If we win tonight -- we get
nearly as much time off as they do -- and our chances for a split of the first 2
go up.
We'll win a game or 2 vs. Lakers. But take 4 of 7, honestly, we're not there yet. Still, it should be entertaining and I do think we have most the pieces in place to get a title in the next 2-4 years.
Go Jazz -- from someone who was in the Salt Palace the night you wrapped up your first midwest division title -- back when 45-37 was good enough to hang a banner...

Maybe booze is overrated, but no way is dwill overrated.You may be a CP3 fan,

haha jazz pre-game ritual is to go out and be physical. they build up a hatred
on the opposing team. for a physical team, they sure do flop a lot. when
aldelmen and sloan were team mates. sloan would before a game work up a hatred
for whoever he was guarding. and he uses that in his game play. that just says a
lot about sloan and his way of play. me a rockets fan know more about the coach
of the utah jazz. that just says jazz fans are as ignorant as boston fans
