Utah Jazz keeps Rockets off offensive boards

CAN IT! The Rockets are just as physical of a team as Utah. They set hard screens, they really go over the back because they can't get postition. They really are physical too. Adleman set his team up to whine about physical play in every press conference to get some attention. Well, as we all know, the jazz play the same way all during the regular season and nobody throws in extra complaining then. This has been a very physical series both ways, but Adleman just doesn't think its fair that fouls might occasionally get called on his players when thy are playing rough. "I just don't understand..." ha ha ha ha ha. Yeah, thats for sure. He doesn't understand. P.S. I say that if they are really gonna whine about the "hard-play", I say we give them hard-play and give them a reason to complain about it.

Adleman can't believe the the things utah gets away with in guarding mcgrady! are you serious adleman?? mcgrady gets touched and the ref calls a foul. I wonder what body part of mcgrady will be hurting when game 5 rolls around.

Remember when you were a kid playing sports and there was always that other kid who if he dropped a ball, missed a shot, etc... faked an injury to justify his failures? I thought it was interesting that TMac would lip noticeably after missed shots. I am so tired of this dudes act. What is Adelman talking about anyhow, everytime AK breathed on TMac they sent his cry baby behind to the line. Why is it so many make excuses for and coddle this guy while he blames everybody but himself. There is a reason his teams have never advanced out of the first round with him usually being the best player on his team. But hey, when fans order Heinekin and get Budweiser it isn't his fault right?

Adelman, Adelman (shaking my head). Let me help you understand coach. Here's the scouting report on Mcgrady:

Gifted scorer, likes to get into a rythm, very good finnisher around the basket. Does not respond well to pressure, get physical with him to get him out of his rythm, force him away from the basket.

I thought it was hysterical when Harpring was guarding him. He was bumping, grabbing, pulling, and pushing TMac all over the floor and it was making TMac mad. the result was that he was able to get to the hoop a few times but it totally took Houston out of their offense.

The difference btween TMac and guys like Kobe or Lebron is that if Harpring did that to them they would punish him for it, they would attack him until they fouled him out of the ball game and then they would score 45 just to send a message.

That being said, I think we should try the same tactic against the Lakers. I think The Kobe Bryant Show is actually easier to defend and win against than the team triangle attack they are thrashing the Nuggets with.

Agree with Magnus Harpring played him tough and Ronnie and Andrei were amazing as well defenively.Rockets shouldn't be complaining about anything because they did the same thing to D-Will and you don't see him complaining. Adelman talks as though the Jazz are hitting McGrady with mallets every time the refs turn their back. The Rockets are physical as well and his whining is getting out of control. I am starting to believe Sloan's theory that he is doing it to put more pressure on the refs.

The Utah Jazz are the #1 physical team in the NBA, at least as measured by fouls -- no team committed more fouls through the regular season than Utah. That's a measured fact... no denying it.

It's a shame that it also clearly figures into the team's overall strategy, as it makes the sport less elegant. Seems also unnecessary when you consider how talented D.Will is...
