LDS performing in Vegas is nothing new. It has gone on for many years. My cousin, Dean Peters, sang Country Western nearly 50 years ago Downtown and on the early Strip.

More recently, I was technical support for the Nelson Family Singers from Southern California as they were a warm up act for Willie Nelson at Caesars Palace. From this family we have Katharine Nelson singing on her own label and currently starring in the movie Emma Smith.

These and all the others mentioned above show a continuum of talent derived from the LDS community. If there is anything of good report, we seek after these things

Please! It's not like only Mormons enjoy wholesome entertainment. Did any of you judges stop to think that the chain-smoking, drinking, athiest gambler might not enjoy shows with naked women and is actually a Donny & Marie fan?

Mormons got in line twice when the sense of self-importance was handed out.
It Is Good, from David | 1:46 p.m. April 27, 2008
It is Good to see that the Osmonds and Steve Young are working, DOING what they Do Best.

Some jobs especially in the entertainment and media
business require working through all the calendar days. Medical Care and related Emergency Care also work on a 24/7 schedule. Other fields do 24/7 too.

Let's not Be "Judgemental". The Savior said to
Judge Not that Ye Not Be Judged. Even He was criticised for Healing on the Sabbath. It is best if one can avoid it, but employment IS BETTER than NOT Working and living on welfare (Church
and/or Gov't.)

Not all talented people in entertainment and media are currently "gainfully" employed. With all the Consolodation, Automation, and other "Shuns" many
talented people are "Shunned Out" not using those talents earning income to pay the bills and putting food on the table taking care of their families.

Again, LET US NOT Judge. That's God and Jesus's
job. Our Job is to be Grateful for the Blessings that we Do Have. Count Your Many Bleesings....

Try to be of Good Cheer,

AND Congrats to Donny & Marie and Steve Y. too!!

Donnie is still hot after 25 years. Good on the Osmonds in taking a rightious act to Las Vegas. Maybe, perhaps maybe, we can bring morals to that town and in the end take back the town we founded. Good for the Osmonds in reconnecting to the past.

All I can say is $85 (minimum) for 90 minutes of entertainment?? That's almost a buck a minute for an hour and a half. What's worth that?

I say check a book/video out from the library and enjoy the entertainment AND your money...

Nice for the 'real' Las Vegas mormon who piped up with the comments that they he does not go to a casino to gamble but feels it is okay to take his eight kids for a buffet at same casino because it is affordable---after all he said he has eight kids and it is affordable?????

All I can say is my friend you are walkin' in Jesus's shoes indeed.... and apparently if you are foolish enough to have eight kids you cannot afford it is OK to go into a house of sin to feed them..Umm????

Red Lobster is a little more expensive but doesn't have strippers or hookers hanging outside the buffet.
About time!! | 9:47 p.m. April 27, 2008
About time that poor Donny and Marie can make a dollar!!! I mean failing this they might have to get a REAL job!!!

I just came back from the show and it was great. They still make me laugh after all these years. I met them in person and them seem so "down to earth." They can really put on a great show. Donny jumped off the stage and shook hands with everyone. They talked to us like they knew us and made us feel that it was well worth the money. Marie looks great and can sing up a storm. They both can. It's nice to see some family entertainment again. Don't miss the show and get the VIP passes to meet them for photos!~ It is a great memory to have.
