Rights unclear to Ute, lawyer argues

That's stupid...because he grew up and the Ute reservation, because he didn't finish high school he's gonna get appointed that he didn't understand. Whether he did or not he still shot the woman and should have to pay. I read on a 9th grade level and I understand my rights if they were read to me. Just because he's a native he thinks he can get aways with it. No! This is B.S. if you ask me!

I live on a reservation and know the tribal police are indians themselves and know how the game is played. If he has been convicted of or put on trial for something in the past then he understands what is going on. He should not get away with the DUMB act. Tribal members ME included want to be treated fair and equal so I don't understand why there is any question at all as to what to do. He should stand trial for FIRST DEGEE MURDER.By the way I have no ties to either party.

If you aren't an attorney then there shouldn't be much for you to say about this case so just let the court system take care of it them selves. Besides no one knows what really happen that night........
Or maybe your in the court system so much this is the reason you know so much about the rights........Not all natives are as smart as you, if you think you think your so smart.
If you want to be treated fair then stay out of other people's lives..........

Well my opinion on this is that what his school history brings up shouldn't matter his turn out on his trial and him not understanding his rights. Yeah i knew my grandparents did speak ute in the house it is hard to unerdstand what is being said at times
