"I was given a test," he said. "I was given a test to myself by Heavenly Father's appointed prophet."

This comes from someone supposedly "exed" and yet he still supports Warren Jeffs? As alluded to by another thread yesterday, even Jeffs indicated he "was not a prophet," before he attempted to hang himself last year in jail.

This demonstrates the extreme level of pressure and "brain washing" exuded on these folks and to me it is another reason that supports taking the children out of harm's way before they too become Jeffs' next victim.

Ummm, am I the only one who thinks Mr. Williams has been brainwashed to the nth degree? He's been "repenting from a distance" for three years. Does he even see the irony of his words with regard to ripping children away from loving mothers? What about loving fathers? Any reservations about the FLDS raid are long gone now, since whatever Texas has done cannot be as bad as what they have allowed to happen from within. This man has drunk the Kool-Aid. Does he really think he'll get his family back and be allowed back in? I'm thinking they've probably been reassigned, and this doesn't seem like the type of organization that will say "oops, our bad. You can have your life back now."

So sad...

No doubt some (most) of these these kids in their new homes will be told that Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon are all lies. Bravo to the Mormon Church for doing nothing not wanting to hurt its carefully crafted mainstream image.

Gah- I hope Texas and CPS is bright enough to NOT release this man's children to him after the DNA testing. He's clearly unfit.

Can we find someone else beside Mr.Parker to interview? I'm tired or learning about FLDS from a paid spokesman, a lawyer at that. How about the DNEWS get some new sources?

Can't we just let this person exercise his religion? To CA: What makes him unfit to be a parent? The article did not state that he was being looked at as an abuser, nor did it implicate he was guilty of anything. Please don't tell me his belief in his prophet makes him unfit. He has every right to decide if he is a prophet as you or I do. He has the same right with regards to Joseph Smith or even Thomas S. Monson. Being dedicated to one's religion, weird or not by your standards, does not make you an unfit person. The article made him sound like a reasonable person, based PURELY on what the article states, I hope he gets his kids back.

if he were to get his kids back how long till he is welcomed back to the open arms of flds, i would bet right on the spot then the nasty old men would have some kids back to touture and bully and teach them the way to heaven is to sexually sastify them

If this gentleman is "welcomed" back, would he get his wife and kids back - who probably were "given" to another man like property in the meantime?

Funny isn't it that this man who was sent away is not telling the same story that other "escaped" victims are telling . He is still upholding that the mothers are good caring mothers. Why does everyone take Caroline Jessup ( WHO IS PUSHING HER BOOK ) at her word but not other excommunicated members or those who left freely at theirs? I have followed this closely and saw lots of interviews of exFLDS members that say her book is not at all what their lives in the FLDS church was. Jessup "escaped" 10 years ago from ColoradoCity, she was never on the YFZ ranch. Her daughter returned to the FLDS.(she went back to ABUSE??????)

TO DEB-
#1 - This man wants to get his family back - wouldn't you say anything to get them back?
#2 - I have been following this story VERY closely as well, and there are several others who say basically the same thing as Jessup. I did see an interview with her right after she left and she said basically the same things then - which was way before she wrote the book. At that time her daughter had not gone back.
#3 - I think the mother's (most of whom were raised this same way)are so indoctrinated they do not know any different. I believe that as "mothers" they are loving and care very deeply for their children. But the question is - are they healthy values that they are raising them by.
It is not healthy to have inbreeding in families, It is not healthy to make your children mary old men when they are but children - or anytime for that matter. It is not healthy to be treated as property and given to other people on the whim of your leaders. There are BIG problems on this ranch that need to be changed.
