Kidd, even at his age, is more serious about defense than the other point guard candidates with TeamUSA. That, plus his playmaking make him the right starting point guard.
And I know CP3 is an MVP candidate and all, but last summer Williams played extremely well with Kobe, LeBron and Melo. CP3 doesn't have that experience or success to the degree Deron does with TeamUSA.
Plus Williams has more size. That REALLY matters in FIBA play, because if TeamUSA switches on the pick and roll, those tall, outside-shooting Europeans will shoot over Chris Paul like he isn't even there. Deron Williams will at least get a hand in their face.
Billups is the guard I would drop. They don't need his alleged outside clutch shooting; they have Kobe Bryant now, and this season LeBron grew as a clutch shooter as well.
Freak, I should be coaching.
Dropping kidd is a no brainer.
