For real? That is a horrible Idea! There are already a ton of hunters and coming off a harsh winter the success rate will be even lower.. at least they cut back some in the northern region.

The DWR What a JOKE | 10:04 a.m. April 17, 2008
The DWR is a joke they are making hunting a rich city boy Vacation. I have hunted all my life with my family and the last couple years the #s are going down because of not drawing and this year because of the price hike. They should get a budget and use it instead of spending. Also they complain that they are loosing young hunters so they may drop the age what will that help if no one draws with them. Or if they have to pay out the tail for a chance to draw. They need some economic classes and learn about retaining their hunters rather that looking for new ones.

Before you start to call us hunters rednecks and say t is a horrible idea, just remember one thing. If it was not for hunters the state would be over run with wild life. Yes this is a fact of life. Its the whole circle of life thing. Deer and other big game do not have many predators in the state of Utah. If it was not for huntng wildlife populations would be out of control very quickly. So before you post an idiotic comment, do a little research. Hunting is needed for the envoirnment and for population control.

the big game elk and deer herds are expanding exponentially and if not culled will result in starvation. For those of you who don't know anything about hunting--get a life.

any body who shoots deer, elk and etc will eat a lot better meat than what you get at the store and will help wild life at the same time good luck to all hunters

Hunters bring in alot of revenue for the State. Hunting also helps to keep Wildlife numbers in control.Game meat is also low in fat and high protein.

The DWR makes their recommendations from biological data. Data collected through scientific methods supports the recommendations. These decisions cannot be made by considering economics because there would be potential to crash the herd. Let the biologists do their jobs.
