David was the entertainment (along with mentor Dean) at a party we attended last Holiday Season. We all just stared at each other saying why hasn't this kid been on American Idol, a show I'm usually not fond of watching but have followed David. While he can show passion and volume in his singing more than any other on the show he can just really sing without resorting to the loud shouting rock style used by others in the competition.

"It seems there's no lack of teenagers who say they're friends with Archuleta."

Well ... of course we all want to say we're friends with him. Sure, I know him really well -- I walk past his locker every day.

he must not be so shy if he is friend with almost the entire school, and everyone is his best friend.

Yeah I can see that he doesn't like
to be the center of attention, and that's
what I like about him, while other contestants
do the imposible for getting a little bit of attention. David A is real, he is not pretending to be another person.Let's vote for David A tonight
guys. He is not only a great talent, he is also a humble boy with a great personality..

Any guy friends? | 3:13 p.m. April 15, 2008
Sounds to me like he has plenty of friends, but they all seem to be girls. Hmmm ...

David has the aura of a winner. He doesn't like to be the center of attention because he sings because he love it and has passion for it. Everywhere he goes he will be the center of attention because of his talent and humility not because he is trying to outshine the other. David Puerto Rico is with you!!!

I live in So-Cal, and I came across this article because our computer is set for auto-updates from Google about David Archuleta.

David is a huge hit down here. And that's not just with the teens and tweens either, like I keep reading comments about. I'm an adult who watches American Idol, and I thought his voice was amazing when I first heard him on the show. Almost everyone I've talked to about AI since this season started says the same thing. Between that magical voice of his, and the aura of goodness he seems to emanate, he comes across as someone truly rare.

Whether he wins or not (and I absolutely think he will), he is someone I'm glad to have found out about. I can't wait to buy his CD's, and I know a ton of people who feel the same way.

Go, David! People everywhere love you!

I am too old to be his friend, and I wouldn't cut off his head and hang it from my car, (don't know what that was all about with Paula?). But being old enough nearly, to be his grandma, I just adore this kid. There is no doubt that he is for real, he is a performer and has no timidness there, but put him on the stage in front of thousands, he gets shy. I love his little hand wave, where he kind of swoops it in a very awkward way, that in itself is a very shy action. With rising gas prices, the elections, the DOW going down and the real estate problems, it is so refreshing to have this wonderful kid that makes me smile every week, even on his not as good weeks. Glad that he was born and that his parents have done a great job with him and that he has good friends.

I've been watching AI since its beginning and I've never been so enamored with one of the contestants like I am with David. You can just see the goodness in his eyes and that's a rare thing with alot of teens these days. His voice is pure and he makes singing seem so effortless. His family must be so proud of him! If he doesn't win the AI crown this year then there is no justice. For me,he is the most talented one standing.

David Archuleta is INCREDIBLE! I've never enjoyed American Idol as much as I do now, and David is absolutely the best part of this season! I'm so glad that I am able to see him perform every week! He's just so AMAZING! He has a great personality and an extremely beautiful voice! He's such a cute, smiley guy! He's so lucky to be doing what he's doing at this time in his life and furthering his career. Someday I'd like to meet the very talented Utah American Idol! I'm voting for you, Archuleta Man! Ha ha! Best of luck!

Wow, I so wish I'm one of his friends, that would be really cool. LOL! Yeah it seems that he is a genuine person, since he is Christian that wouldn't be impossible, if you're brought up properly by your parents you'll pretty much be well-mannered. It's just so hard for most people to believe that someone like him does still exist, but that's good news because it means there's still hope, everything we do is our choice. I would consider David as a beautiful person inside and out. Good luck to you and God bless always, keep your feet on the ground and He will surely lift you up! ;) By the way thanks for this article.

He has brought a new meaning to camaraderie in idol. Nothing is a competition but to have friends and enjoy the experience - that is singing his heart out. WHAT A CONCEPT! Unlike the previous idols where people saw and felt the competitiveness, this year people are having fun seeing the idol contestants having fun, crying during elimination weeks. It is definitely the David AURA that surrounds them. Love you David. You are surreal!!! Elimination - what!!! YOU ARE THE NEXT IDOL.

Why wouldn't all the kids at Murray High act like they are best friends with David. As a Murray High Alum, I wish I could say I know him too. It's great to hear the school and the community are supporting him the way they are. Go Murray and GO DAVID!

Look, it's great this guy has a great voice, and has managed to parlay that into success, but American Idol is utter trash TV. Corporate produced music is as bad as corporate produced paintings. They may look pretty on a bedroom wall, but they'll be forgotten after less than a few decades, only to be spoken of on nostalgia shows like I Love The 80s.

In a way I feel bad for this kid as he will be taken advantage of by corporate executives from here on, which is a waste for such a marvelous talent.

By the way, singers on American Idol aren't artists, they are performers. When they can write their own songs, or at least a few lyrics, then call them artists.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
