Cyprus High School Says GO DAVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We are voting for you.
Killo-Watt | 1:40 p.m. April 15, 2008
David was the entertainment (along with mentor Dean) at a party we attended last Holiday Season. We all just stared at each other saying why hasn't this kid been on American Idol, a show I'm usually not fond of watching but have followed David. While he can show passion and volume in his singing more than any other on the show he can just really sing without resorting to the loud shouting rock style used by others in the competition.

"It seems there's no lack of teenagers who say they're friends with Archuleta."

Well ... of course we all want to say we're friends with him. Sure, I know him really well -- I walk past his locker every day.

he must not be so shy if he is friend with almost the entire school, and everyone is his best friend.

We are voting for you David!
davidafan | 2:55 p.m. April 15, 2008
Yeah I can see that he doesn't like
to be the center of attention, and that's
what I like about him, while other contestants
do the imposible for getting a little bit of attention. David A is real, he is not pretending to be another person.Let's vote for David A tonight
guys. He is not only a great talent, he is also a humble boy with a great personality..
Any guy friends? | 3:13 p.m. April 15, 2008
Sounds to me like he has plenty of friends, but they all seem to be girls. Hmmm ...
kary | 3:42 p.m. April 15, 2008
David has the aura of a winner. He doesn't like to be the center of attention because he sings because he love it and has passion for it. Everywhere he goes he will be the center of attention because of his talent and humility not because he is trying to outshine the other. David Puerto Rico is with you!!!

I live in So-Cal, and I came across this article because our computer is set for auto-updates from Google about David Archuleta.

David is a huge hit down here. And that's not just with the teens and tweens either, like I keep reading comments about. I'm an adult who watches American Idol, and I thought his voice was amazing when I first heard him on the show. Almost everyone I've talked to about AI since this season started says the same thing. Between that magical voice of his, and the aura of goodness he seems to emanate, he comes across as someone truly rare.

Whether he wins or not (and I absolutely think he will), he is someone I'm glad to have found out about. I can't wait to buy his CD's, and I know a ton of people who feel the same way.

Go, David! People everywhere love you!

Way To Go David from a real friend
MoJules | 3:57 p.m. April 15, 2008
I am too old to be his friend, and I wouldn't cut off his head and hang it from my car, (don't know what that was all about with Paula?). But being old enough nearly, to be his grandma, I just adore this kid. There is no doubt that he is for real, he is a performer and has no timidness there, but put him on the stage in front of thousands, he gets shy. I love his little hand wave, where he kind of swoops it in a very awkward way, that in itself is a very shy action. With rising gas prices, the elections, the DOW going down and the real estate problems, it is so refreshing to have this wonderful kid that makes me smile every week, even on his not as good weeks. Glad that he was born and that his parents have done a great job with him and that he has good friends.
Sk8girl | 4:27 p.m. April 15, 2008
I've been watching AI since its beginning and I've never been so enamored with one of the contestants like I am with David. You can just see the goodness in his eyes and that's a rare thing with alot of teens these days. His voice is pure and he makes singing seem so effortless. His family must be so proud of him! If he doesn't win the AI crown this year then there is no justice. For me,he is the most talented one standing.
Louisianaguy | 4:36 p.m. April 15, 2008
I am from Louisiana and LDS. I really like David. He is a super singer. Great personality.
Chelbi | 5:44 p.m. April 15, 2008
David Archuleta is INCREDIBLE! I've never enjoyed American Idol as much as I do now, and David is absolutely the best part of this season! I'm so glad that I am able to see him perform every week! He's just so AMAZING! He has a great personality and an extremely beautiful voice! He's such a cute, smiley guy! He's so lucky to be doing what he's doing at this time in his life and furthering his career. Someday I'd like to meet the very talented Utah American Idol! I'm voting for you, Archuleta Man! Ha ha! Best of luck!
American Idol Viewer | 6:06 p.m. April 15, 2008
I can't wait to go to a David Archuleta concert and buy every CD he makes, and when I am old make my grandchildren listen to him. He will be a legend!
Elle | 6:08 p.m. April 15, 2008
Wow, I so wish I'm one of his friends, that would be really cool. LOL! Yeah it seems that he is a genuine person, since he is Christian that wouldn't be impossible, if you're brought up properly by your parents you'll pretty much be well-mannered. It's just so hard for most people to believe that someone like him does still exist, but that's good news because it means there's still hope, everything we do is our choice. I would consider David as a beautiful person inside and out. Good luck to you and God bless always, keep your feet on the ground and He will surely lift you up! ;) By the way thanks for this article.
Sandy Parks | 6:14 p.m. April 15, 2008
He has brought a new meaning to camaraderie in idol. Nothing is a competition but to have friends and enjoy the experience - that is singing his heart out. WHAT A CONCEPT! Unlike the previous idols where people saw and felt the competitiveness, this year people are having fun seeing the idol contestants having fun, crying during elimination weeks. It is definitely the David AURA that surrounds them. Love you David. You are surreal!!! Elimination - what!!! YOU ARE THE NEXT IDOL.
Frankie | 7:02 p.m. April 15, 2008
This young man is truly amazing. He is a great example and we should all be proud of him.
Murray High | 7:07 p.m. April 15, 2008
Why wouldn't all the kids at Murray High act like they are best friends with David. As a Murray High Alum, I wish I could say I know him too. It's great to hear the school and the community are supporting him the way they are. Go Murray and GO DAVID!
*Sigh* | 7:23 p.m. April 15, 2008
Look, it's great this guy has a great voice, and has managed to parlay that into success, but American Idol is utter trash TV. Corporate produced music is as bad as corporate produced paintings. They may look pretty on a bedroom wall, but they'll be forgotten after less than a few decades, only to be spoken of on nostalgia shows like I Love The 80s.

In a way I feel bad for this kid as he will be taken advantage of by corporate executives from here on, which is a waste for such a marvelous talent.

By the way, singers on American Idol aren't artists, they are performers. When they can write their own songs, or at least a few lyrics, then call them artists.
42 Year Old Mom | 8:29 p.m. April 15, 2008
My 14 year o1d daugther is in love with David A. She has pictures of him in frames all over her room.
Of course she has downloaded all his music. Watching Idol of course is a ritual at our house. I love hearing David A. sing also. I'm not big into music but he has a soothing voice and I would buy his CD. He puts a smile on my face and we need more teenagers like him around
woot | 8:29 p.m. April 15, 2008
go david!!!!
Sorry but... | 9:47 p.m. April 15, 2008
I think I'm the only one in American who doesn't like David A's singing. He's very "High School Musical." If I heard him on the radio I'd turn the channel. He's a sweet kid, but not a cutting edge talent. But neither was Jordin Sparks. Sorry.
Davey Crocket | 10:00 p.m. April 15, 2008
You've got a voice of gold, David! You're the bomb, dawg!
Anonymous | 9:54 p.m. April 15, 2008
David Archuleta is by far the best Vocalist on American Idol.
Sorry | 11:12 p.m. April 15, 2008
David Archuleta drives me crazy. He is so boring. Get a personality. Yes he has talent but is this really what people in America are craving? If so they should get in touch with BYU Young Ambassadors.
yo | 11:15 p.m. April 15, 2008
good job.
Dave | 11:21 p.m. April 15, 2008
I agree with *Sigh* I do think David has a great voice and I love to hear him sing. Let's get him creating some of his own music in his own style and we may have something great. In some ways it may be better for to go far on AI but not win so he is not "owned" by them and can do his own thing and perhaps become an "artist."
Reply to *Sigh* | 11:35 p.m. April 15, 2008
I am pretty sure that they choose real artists generally to compete on American Idol. In fact, I believe that David Archuleta has composed his own music, correct me if I am wrong.

I am not totally defending American Idol because in some ways I do think it's a nasty way to have to make it in the music world...being put through all the negative judging etc...

But at the same time, I don't think that everyone on American Idol is only a "performer".
BigDblood | 11:52 p.m. April 15, 2008
I work for the #1 retail electronic store in the US & am a huge David Archuleta fan! After all the Tuesdays preformances about 12 of us talk of who did the best. With the exception of the week David A. forgot the lyrics he has always been the TOP preformer (at least to us). And we are all in our 30s & 40s. Texas is behind you David A!!!
big fan | 12:07 a.m. April 16, 2008
David, is so cute and does an amazing job week after week. David will be the next american idol. My family love you david.
jane | 12:40 a.m. April 16, 2008
David Archuleta is the best that ever happened to American Idol...Eventhough I don't know him personally, just hearing him sing felt that I've known him for so long. He's got an amazing talent...Hope he'll visit the Philippines someday. Pls vote for David Acrhuleta to be the next American Idol!!!!
Lynn D. | 3:44 a.m. April 16, 2008
David is a star and last night he shined. Can't wait to buy his CDs and go to his concerts. I hope he's ready for the career waiting at his doorstep.
Ho Hum | 4:56 a.m. April 16, 2008
I'm LDS and from Utah. Why should that make me like listening to sappy singing.

Being a star is a lot more than getting media exposure.

Geniuses that write and perform their own music, that withstands the test of time. Those are the real stars.

Archuleta
Britney Spears

Forgettable.

reply to ho hum | 7:54 a.m. April 16, 2008
what do u mean that they r forgettable? i bet it i asked everyone if the name brittney spears rang a bell i know everyone would know her. and David A. rocks. he is going to be the best american idol ever!!!!! And he does compose his own music. Well I LUV U DAVID A.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U R GOING TO WIN THIS THING!! GOODLUCK!!!
misty | 11:31 a.m. April 16, 2008
I pray david, starts believing he can win, that god has created this time of joy for him-and for us-

Doubt is always an enemy--
Let's Be Happy For Him | 1:17 p.m. April 16, 2008
To all of David's doubters: If you don't like his talent... fine. Do you have to bring him down? Can't you let him have his glory for now? David has amazing talent. Let's not forget that he is in high school. Don't take away the happiness that he brings to millions of people. If it were your son, brother, friend, or acquaintance up there you'd sing a different tune. Don't let them get you down David. Sing with all your heart and soul. Win it all!
Ben | 6:46 p.m. April 16, 2008
To SORRY: I want to remind you that this isn't a personality contest it is a singing contest and one of the reasons I love David is because of his humble demeanor and of course the way he sings. He has never had to use someone else's arrangement and pretend its his. Nor has he ever pranced around like he is the star of the show. I hope this is the kind of "Idol" America wants. It will be nice to see good win over evil for a change and David Archuleta is not only talented but he is a truly good soul.
Ho Hum | 6:53 p.m. April 16, 2008
I'm talking about being remembered for GREAT music. Britney will be remembered for her bald head and crazy behavior. Archuleta could still do something great. He's young. American Idol is no big deal. Look at the careers of past winners. They just fade away.
Allison | 4:23 p.m. April 17, 2008
I LOVE DAVID!!! he is so amazing. hes got a GREAT voice-the voice of a winner! and hes so adorable <33

Ho Hum, you are stereotyping and being too pessimistic. Who knows what lies in front of David Archuleta's life? Just because others may be like what you said, does it mean that is true about David Archuleta too? By the way, I believe that David Archuleta has passion for singing. Anyone who does things with passion will succeed and his success will be long lasting. I wish you well and hope you will have the same passion as David Archuleta has in his singing, in whatever you do. May success be with you too. Let's celebrate together with David Archuleta.

Who doesn't Love David?? NOBODY!!!!!!! He is awesome I hope he wins
vermeer | 1:47 p.m. April 19, 2008
I am old enough to be an old aunt to David Archuleta, therefore hardly a teenager. This is the first time I am watching every minute of AI because of one and only one contestant, David A. His beautiful spirit comes through the TV through his pure voice as well as his humble demeanor. It's too bad some people feel compelled to write hateful things about him. It's amazing to me that David is humble to the point he is not assuming he is going to stay in the competition from week to week. I hope nothing negative (like hateful comments) gets in the way of his desire and ability to sing and express himself through the songs so we can all continue to share in the joy of experiencing his undeniably huge talent.
reply to ho hum | 1:57 p.m. April 20, 2008

You are a sad case. You crave attention by putting the one down everyone on this site loves and admires. It is obvious you know little about music. This site is all about David A., What are you doing on it anyway. Nothing you have said yet has made any logical sense. If you can't see what it is we all love about David, I can only feel sorry for you. I suggest you change sites.
Cerritos, CA | 7:00 p.m. April 21, 2008
David Fans lets not let the haters get to us. David truley has somthing special. Some see him as boring and forgettable because he is nice, genuine, very well liked and so cute... and some people can not relate to those very rare traits. When he sings... who cares what the song is, listen to that voice.

Keep voting for David Archuleta!!
Steve - David, stop the Ballads | 1:25 p.m. April 22, 2008
I'm a fan of David Archuleta's, but the ballads every week are getting old fast. David you really need to find an up-tempo/dance/rock song or two that you can pull off just as well as the slow songs or people will consider you a "one trick pony" (some already are). Ballads are your strength and that's fine, but even Celine Dion who is the same (ballads are where she's best) throws in some up-tempo songs to liven things up and for variety.

David is an amazing singer and and amazing person! he finally came to Utah this week to visit again and you counln't believe all the crowds waiting for him. i almost got trampled at gateway from all the people. and not no mention at the school. he sang soo beautifully and he has a voice that America fell in love with. we love you david and you know all of us are voting for you. forget about the haters and do what you love to do! oh and come visit us soon we miss you already!
