Now if only shovels, rakes, hoes, and hard work could get rid of the mess being created by the Bill Barrett Corporation in Nine Mile Canyon. The BLM is currently looking at, and is apparently in favor of, the industrialization of Nine Mile Canyon in order for Bill Barrett Corporation to drill over 800 natural gas wells on the West Tavaputs Plateau, with access to the Plateau through Nine Mile Canyon. See the recent draft environmental impact statement issued by the BLM. Everyone should go to Nine Mile Canyon to see the beautiful rock art which is going to be destroyed by the irresponsible actions of the BLM and Bill Barrett Corporation before it is too late.
What a liar | 8:46 p.m. April 9, 2008
You obviously haven't been to Nine Mile Canyon like I have, John Muir. Bill Barrett has not damaged the rock art and has, in fact, help protect it with actions like moving the road away from the Hunter Panel. Don't submit your lies here. People like you make me sick.

What a liar; you don't make me sick - that sounds a little over the top. The activity that is proposed for 9 Mile kick up chemical dust that may, in fact, have a bad effect on the rock art. Certainly the reverberations of the traffic might be expected to loosen sheets of rock, including the art. But I have to agree that the West Tavaputs Plateau will never be the same. I suggest that your tone reflects an emotional state that can't be good for your health.

I have an idea...

Let's all show up to help clean up on that day, and make a difference in the world instead of pointing fingers at each other.
