The bottom line is the Church is true and anyone, repeat ANYONE, can learn that for themselves (and thank God for that!) if they will only humbly and honestly seek the truth. For those who hate the LDS faith, like Nephi, we will love our enemies but pay no heed to your blind hatred.
Conference was great!
The caravan moves on!.....
To all true believers, there must only be one and to make it very clear to all involved---Greek Mythology is true; I have prayed on it and have a testimony to this fact.
Thank you. You have just rationalized yourself into a confession that Mormons are NOT Christian. They are a cult.
Well done.
I am with you 100%. I have studied both Greek mythology and the LDS Church doctrine and find Greek mythology the truer and more rational of both.
I am Buddhist but if I had to pick between LDS and Greek mythology; you bet I be calling Zeus my heavenly father.
It looks a whole lot like pride, stature and recognition that the LDS church and LDS individuals are trying to achieve and that is just wrong; and as many like to say "that is just 'NOT Christ like"
No, it shouldn't. I just find it funny how for decades and decades, people have been predicting the sudden demise of the LDS Church. After Fawn Brodie released her book "No Man Knows My History" people were predicting it would destoy Mormonism. The same thing after Ed Decker released his film "The God Makers."
It really doesn't prove anything, except that some LDS critics have often jumped the gun.
I know that not all 13-million LDS Church members on record are active, temple-going Latter-day Saints. No one is in any way disputing that. I personally think 4-million is a little low, but it's probably close. Some Latter-day Saints attend church, but aren't involved much beyond that.
And NO, the LDS Church does NOT include deceased people who have had their temple work done. If that were the case, the number would be around 113-million.
If you wonder if you belong to a cult, then you do.
I hadn't heard of the Church until the missionaries knocked on my parents door. I had to travel approx 25 miles to Hyde Park Chapel in London as that was the nearest baptismal font. I was confirmed with the power of the Holy Ghost (baptism of fire) in the Mission Home, Exhibition Road, London. Which has been my guide, companion and protector.
I have always had to travel distances to attend Church and for the last 7 years have had to travel 46 miles round trip to Church on a Sunday to teach Gospel Doctrine.
It is good to know Where you have come from, Why you are here and Where you are going.
To have the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ once more upon the earth in its simplicity and purity that a child can understand it is "Wonderful in Mine Eyes" and is "Gods Doing" (quoting Elizabeth I)
I have always known that God the Father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are as powerful and active to-day as they were anciently.

You said that Joseph Smith criticized the leaders (meaning that he attacked their character and them personally as individuals) of other churches in his day because he said their hearts were essentially "far from God"? Can your argument of how the LDS church attacks other faiths be more weak or ridiculous?
It is entirely possible to attack one's beliefs without attacking the "owner" of the beliefs. How? Because what we DO (or in this case, what we believe) is entirely separate from who we are. That is true for Mormons and non-Mormons alike. Christ did it in his day. As someone already pointed out, go look at all the harsh things Christ had to say about the Saducees and Pharisees of His day. And I do mean "harsh". Christ didn't pull any punches. Ever.
If someone's religious beliefs ARE wrong/not true, then they just ain't true and all the arguing and hoping in the world can't change that. And, if you'll look at Joseph's history honestly, he actually said very, very little about other churches as "wrong" because he spent soooo much time saying his revelations on religion were "right".
