Feds open legal office in southern Utah

I just hope they aren't going to start charging people with federal
felonies just to prove the necessity of their existence! If the "Police
Powers" are retained by the states, why do we need a federal police force
except to prosecute crimes, the elements of which extend beyond the bounderies
of one state? We already have an FBI for such purposes, why do we need a DEA,
ATF and Federal Marshalls? Why do we need a set of federal laws that simply
duplicate state laws and often result in double jeopardy (even though the courts
have held people can be prosecuted under BOTH state and federal law?
