Students get steroid warning

Note: I was in school in Utah 40 years ago when we discussed steroids. And we knew then that they would kill yah, etc.

We must find a new way to get it across. 40 years ago.

wait, it was actually 42 years ago. Good luck people.

Somebody had better be finding lots of examples of disease & shrunken testicles to show these kids, cause quite bluntly, they don't believe it.
What they do believe is what they've seen. Pro
athletes who have made tremendous gains. High school classmates who have muscled up & made allstate teams & been recruited by colleges.
Steroids are far more prevalent in utah high schools than most people would imagine. The only thing that will stop it is testing.

Why we dont test is beyound me? i see allot of this in the high schools in st. george even some bleeding over to the girl sports. We are teaching these young kids that cheating is ok. In the classroom i hear kids talk about it. They know who is on the "Juice". Our district in St. George is turning their heads and avoiding the issue. Start testing!!! I hear it all over the state how we must be on the stuff to have kids look like that. They are correct. We work hard but very few kids can look like that without help. looks like we are getting our coaches "Back East" traditions

Agreed. If they don't start testing now, it is going to get way out of hand. As a high school athlete, it is sad for kids to think that they only way to bulk up is by using steroids. Knowing that it is deadly, I have been body building since the end of 8th grade. As a senior, I actually look better than people that I know who have used steroids. You would think they would learn..........

Make specific accusations or stop! You can be vague and hide behind your comments. Hearsay and rumor can tear communities apart. Become involved and help if there is merit for helping. Alot of things students say in "class" are sensationalized. There may be a problem on an individual basis but it is not an epedemic. I have met every single coach in southern utah, not one of them would ever tolerate steroids in their programs. If you know things! Become part of the solution! Don't indirectly accuse our coaches with "East Tradition"
