Mitt joins McCain today for fundraiser

If you stand for liberty you need to look at Ron Paul. How can anyone who understands the slightest things of the Book of Mormon endose McCain?
I can't believe the small showing for Ron Paul in Utah. If you voted for someone just because he is a member of you faith in the local elections you would have a problem because sometimes both parties are members of your faith.
Those who stand for liberty need to join the Ron Paul Revolution. "Stand for something"
McCain certainly isn't my first choice- but he is a choice closer to my principals than the other two. Sometimes your vote has to keep those with less of your principals out of the highest office in the land where they could do the most damage. If you think things can't change that much in 4 years- again look to the Book of Mormon to show you that is wrong.
I would just as soon let the Democrats take the blame for the next four years than have McLiberal swing the blame onto Republicans.
Choose Huckabigot as VP and watch Utah voters turn BLUE in record proportions!
The ONLY thing that would make him Utah's favorite son is his Mormonism. Are we that blatantly and mindlessly voting for a candidate for no other reason than his religious beliefs?
Pathetic.
I think Mitt and McCain both underestimate the unforgiving Mormon mind. They feel betrayed by Mitt - first for suspending his race for President, and second, for endorsing McCain, who was his enemy (the same way BYU and Utah are enemies).
Once you betray the Mormons, AMEN to you! They don't forgive!
There are many people supporting Obama simply because he is black or Hillary because she is a woman, and their values go by the wayside. At least if you go with faith and values as a guid you have a good idea of a candidates moral compass. And on the other side of the coin their are people who DID NOT support Romney because of his faith. How shortsighted and bigoted is that?
Yes, I am a Republican. I get requests from the Republican party for money nearly every day. No, I do not support McCain. Yes, I would like some real, honest change. Can we ever get it from politics and politicians? Not from this crew. 8 more years of Bush lite. They will not get a dime from me.
I would ask you to reconsider whether either of the 2 Democrats are any less close to your principles than McCain is. The way I see it, they are ALL pretty much the same, just bankrupting America via different coercive means.
The Book of Moromon does have a great deal to say about fighting pre-emptive wars -- and that God pretty much let the people tank when they did so.
It nauseates me to hear people chanting the mantra, "We are fighting for our freedoms...." We are actually fighting a war of agression. Not saying we don't need to root out Bin Laden and other insurgents, but attacking a COUNTRY and trying to form it to our idea of an acceptable democracy is quite a different matter. That's imperialism.
I won't be rewarding the Republican Party with any more money this year -- and likely for a long time to come. And I'll either write-in Ron Paul or vote for the Libertarian.
McCain is not a "Freeman" I would put him right up there with the other two "Kingmen" running for office. And about looking further to see the outcome in the Book of Mormon. How about 3rd Nephi before Christ comes.
No pitty party here. Can you stand before Moroni knowing you didn't stand for Liberty.
The Founding Fathers of this Country I am sure are doing rolling in their graves.
Foolish ideologies like invading and occupying a sovreign country, like attempting to subvert the constitutional seperation of powers, like the ignorance of congressional legislation by 'signing statements' - is this the foolish ideologies of which you speak?
It is my opinion that Clinton will concede the Democratic nomination before Denvers' convention, support of Barrick (yes, Husssein) Obama will consolidate when people listen to his sustantive discussions instead of sound bytes, and people will see how shallow McCains' knowledge of our economic and political problems are.
Not that age has become a metric in presidential qualifications, certainly knowledge and correct identification of warring factions in Iraq is, and McCain has not performed well.
Guess what? Born and raised in UT. Education does not make a man wise. I don't care if you all go to Harvard. Look at what each of the front runners pushing. Tell me were the Founding Fathers idiots when they didn't vote for rule by England? I don't think that was the most popular vote. And saying you are more informed than the average American voter is not saying much.
The do-anything-to-win John McCain of 2008 has cast aside his principles to secure the GOP nomination, has ignored the West and western issues, and continues to struggle to unite a divided Republican Party.
At the same time, McCains promise of a third Bush term on everything from dealing with Iraq to the economy has alienated key voting blocs including independents and Hispanics. The results paint a picture that looks anything but promising for Republicans for the November elections.
Oh the shame of it all. Folks, the people at the top do not care what you and I think. The name of the game is power, and to get there you have to win. John would kiss the devil to get to the white house, and Mitt would dine with him as well.
and so it goes.
I felt I had to give you the money.
I'm voting for The Brain for President and Pinkey for V.P. WHO'S WITH ME????

Money in Social "Insecurity" & Medicare will be gone by 2017, so the report states, & we have politician that want to tax more to help pay for more health care, more college funding & subsidize a "Global Warming" lie. If you keep taxing (plundering) from people, eventually people give-up since they'll never gain.
You don't see Hillary or Obama dropping out for the good of their party. I think what Romney did was the right thing.
Right now my vote is up in the air. I'll probably write in Ron Paul myself unless one of the current puppets renounce their ties to the CFR and admit that Paul was right about the economy.
Right now it looks like we are going to get more of the same. Our economy is only going to get worse, whether money is wasted on entitlement programs or military adventurism.
In the meantime. I've already ordered my "Don't blame me, I voted for Ron Paul" bumpersticker.
After much deliberation I have decided that I can no longer cast my vote for candidates who are taking this country down the wrong path. To do so teaches them that I either approve of their policies or that I don't care.
I KNOW that Ron Paul will not win. But a vote for him gives encouragement to the many young Ron Paul supporters who will be voting for the first time -- who are not yet addicted to debt like their parents -- and to the many upcoming candidates running on the same platform of fiscal responsibility, limited government, and non-imperialistic foreign policy.
They need to see that these principles are not totally falling on deaf ears -- so they can have the courage to carry on another day.
I don't have to have immediate gratification.
On the other hand, if McCain picks Hickabigot to be his VP, watch Utah Republicans turn BLUE in record numbers at the voting booth.
~ Mitt Romney, Jan 28, 2008
"I think any Republican leader in this country would be honored to be asked to serve as the vice presidential nominee, myself included," Romney told FOX's Sean Hannity in a broadcast set to air tonight."
~ Mitt Romney, March 11, 2008
Why do any of you trust this man? Not withstanding his changing positions during his run, and some outright lies. It continues even now. What is it about this man that so many of you find agreeable?
Wow. That was an over reaction. The last time I checked, There haven't been any soldiers drafted to fight in the war, they are there because they love their country, and they are proud to stand up for this nation.
ACTUALLY Old Guy, they (our troops) are there because the government renegged on their contracts and created the Stop Loss program for this unsustainable war that has gone on for what is it no 6 years?!! They are there because they have been lied to by their government. They are not so much volunteers but human sacrifices by Bush and Cheney. Cheney who received five deferrments from the Viet Nam War and Bush who got a nice spot in the National Guard and then awol'ed from that.
In addition, the current US backed leader in Iraq, Maliki, has 60% disapproval rate (like Bush here. Our poor troops are backing an unpopular regime and so are you. That's why 4,000 of them are deceased, thousands more mentally and physically scarred for life. And, our economy is swirling the bowl.
To be honest and forthright, to openly state the facts, is not being negative. It is being truthful. I love the soldiers, but a I hate the war. And I know that we are fighting in Iraq for oil and revenge, and not enough in Afghanistan where al Quieda is making it stand.
November cannot come soon enough.
Tell us how it was my friend, when you voluntarily stayed behind in a hellish POW camp out of a sense of loyalty to other men; tell us of your courage, and of your heroism, that has made you so great that you can proclaim and identify the 'small men' amongst us. Tell us what it is about Willard Romney, a man that can't remember what it is that he believes from one day to the next, a man that believes he is the one for the job based upon his 'corporate raider' persona and his ability to make money at the expense of others, that makes him appear to be such a 'presidental looker' standing next to a man that suffered for his nation. Is it his hair? Is it his church? You don't have to answer, it is painfully obvious. For the record, McCain's service doesn't necessarily make him presidential material; but 'small man syndrome' sufferer, he is not. Likely more man than you could even imagine.
I totally understand your frustration and your refusal to support a Republican Party careening madly out of control. My concern is that if your vote goes to Nader it will be viewed as a vote for more liberalism. I ask you to consider not sending an unclear message with your protest vote. If you are upset with the Republican Party's liberal bent, how about writing-in Ron Paul or voting for the Libertarian...?
If you are unsure if that is acceptable to you, how about taking the Smallest Political Quiz in the World...? (You'll have to google it because they won't post URL's)
My bet is that are large number of Republicans are actually more at home with the libertarian philosophy anyway. That's why the Republicans are making us so crazy!
I think it's great that Josh took a pass on a campaign this fall -- I think that's a good signal that Mitt is getting ready for a VP run.
