This time around, Fisher ready for boo birds

Fish shouldn't be too upset with the boos. It just shows how much Jazz fans felt like we still needed him.Plus, most people realize he's a class act off the court, but on the court he's the enemy and a Laker to boot.

So we still need Gira? Fisher should just realise that the utah fans are damn passionate, they arent fans of a player like the cavs with Lebron they are fans of the team, leave the team and your going to hear it, If I recall correctly Karl Malone didnt play in Utah when he was a laker, curious to see how that would've gone. Fisher didn't have to go back to probably our biggest rival.

Booing a guy whose kid had eye cancer and he wanted access to the best treatment... I thought we were better than that...

Fisher is a fake, a fraud, and a charlatan. He supposedly left because there were only a few hospitals that could treat his daughter. LA was NOT one of the cities where the treatment was available and is farther from the needed service than Salt Lake.

Derek got us to buy his lie hook, line, and sinker...

That being said, it is classless for Jazz fans to boo Fisher. Let's show a little more class than the deceiver...

get over it already. it was best for him and his family. it also gave ronnie brewer a starting job so win , win for all involved go jazz.

I agree that things worked out best for the Jazz; Ronnie is an awesome player who is getting well-deserved minutes and making a great difference. However, quit playing the game that there was some noble motive on Derek's end. I don't hold any animosity or ill will, but the truth is he left for selfish reasons other than just his daughter's care and deceived the Jazz owners and fans.

Fisher did lie to the Jazz, Larry Miller and to us, the Jazz fans. He is a fraud and personally I think using your daughter's illness to manipulate your situation is despicable. Fisher deserves no respect. He has no honor.

That being said, I have to agree with Page. Let's get over it. I'll take Ronnie B over Fisher any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Fisher served a nice purpose last year in tutoring D-Will a little and provding some leadership. The team moved on and has improved. We the fans should do likewise.

I would boo him too. Anyone who leaves the jazz just because they want to deserves to be booed. I am a fan of the team first, then I am a fan of the players on the team. When he left the team, I decided to not be his fan anymore. Boo Fisher.

I still like Fisher and wish him and his family the very best. He worked his tail off while he was with the Jazz and he helped us when we needed it.

Now he is with the enemy and so he should expect some boos. If he had signed with the Clippers, there probably wouldn't have been so much of a problem.

The whole problem is with which team he signed with. Lakers=enemies!

Boo Fisher! Everytime he touches the ball boo him, if he falls applaud, and every time he misses a shot give a standing O.

What is funny about this whole thing, is it took fisher to leave on his own so brewer could get some minutes.

I promise you if fisher had stayed Sloan would have played him ahead of Brewer and we would be a worse team. I'm glad fisher left, because sloan would never figure out that brewer is 6'7 and a much better player.

All of you so called Jazz fans are so pathetically insecure. There is absolutely no reason to boo a guy who gave everything he had while he was here. I truly believe he left for the right reasons to care for his daughter. I am the biggest Jazz fan you'll ever meet and I hate the Lakers, but that doesn't change my opinion that many Jazz fans are some of the most insecure in the league and I am appalled and embarrassed to see so many take the lower road to boo someone These Jazz fans simply have falsely conjured up in their heads. How do you know Fisher intentionally left the Jazz just so he could sign with the Lakers to spite us. There is no logic to that notion. To all who believe Fisher unscrupulously left for those reasons, grow up and learn that the game is not about cheering against someone. You're focus should cheering your team on. What if this same situation happened to John Stockton. What if he left to play for the Lakers. Would you boo him?

I don't want to hear that its okay to boo Fisher, because its not. I love the Jazz but am tired of the typical Jazz fan a.k.a let the boos ring, displaying there classlessness. Who cares why D. Fish is not here anymore, quit taking it so personal. When you own the team, and know all the details regarding the D. Fish departure then feel free to boo. When you change employers I hope you get booed when you go back to visit, no I take that back, because booing is classless!

Why not make some headlines by using reverse psychology and give him a standing ovation every time he touches the ball.

Is there any proof that he lied and left for selfish reasons? All we have is speculations and people's opinions. Get over it. So he left. That is ok. Quit speculating and let the man play the game. He has always had a good track record off the court. There is really nothing more than opinions to say he lied and left cause he wanted to. Let it go

It is these media fools that keep claiming that ALL Jazz fans (or even the majority) in the stadium were booing Fisher every time he touched the ball. That simply was not the case. He was booed by maybe a little more than a quarter of the fans upon introduction, and only a smattering of fans throughout the game. The media likes to blow this thing way out of proportion....you know, kinda do what they always do when they make a mountain out of a mole hill. I am sure it will likely be the same tonight.

Just remember some of your player do not appreciate the boos on Fisher. Carlos Boozer has a sick child and can relate to what Fisher has gone through, and I know he wonders if his situation became as dire as Derek's and he had to leave the Jazz would you boo him? He said he did not like the boos.Be classless if you want. It is silly under these circumstances.

You said it!! Booz situation IS/WAS just as bad as Fishers and did we see him trying to dissolve his contract? Did he lie to get out of town? He made the best of a difficult situation. The flights to Florida aren't short either.

Derek the "Flaker" says "I need treatment for my daughter back east" ie. New York and then immediately signs with the Lakers? Duh!! Wrong direction dude!! For a man that is supposedly so smart you would think he knows which direction is east.

He did not want to come here to begin with, if you will recall he did not show up immediately, and he had to explain away his "shock" with the trade from the Warriors.

How many more blatant signs do you people need? He USED HIS DAUGHTERS ILLNESS as an escape hatch to get out of Utah.

Nobody here likes the fact that he did not want to be here and the fact that all the evidence points to the fact he LIED to get out.

He got cheered when he was here for how he acted but he deserved to be booed for the devious escape!!!

How come everyone's being so sensitive? It's a game. I think if any one of us ran into Fisher on the street (in real life), we'd wish him and his family the absolute best.

But this is a game played by millionaires. And if they're going to get all sensitive when fans try to take them out of their element and not perform well (home court advantage), then they probably shouldn't be in the entertainment industry. I don't think BYU fans really HATE ute players (football or basketball), but they'll boo them off the field as part of the game. We do the same to Carmelo Anthony. Should we get all touchy-feely about his emotions? No! We should boo him off the court.

Fisher said that the crowds reaction suprised him. That means it was on his mind; and he wasn't fully invested in the game. Job well done fans!

Settle down everybody. I wish Fisher, his daughter, and family only the best. But I'll be booing my lungs dry tonight (on my couch).

I will boo Fish like a wild man tonight, but not because he betrayed the Jazz, but because I want the Jazz to win.

Fish left for family support in a time of crisis first, and top notch medical care second. If I were on the road 100+ days per year, my child was incredibly ill, and my wife's entire family was in LA, I would move to LA too without question. Easy decision.

For those of you who vehemently disagree and suspect Fish's character, you fall into one of the following perfectly acceptable categories: (1) You are childless and have no frame of reference (2) You have children but are likely emotionally shallow, or at worst, don't love your children (3) You are quite possibly a bit irrational or unfortunately just clueless.
