They came with groups that were sent to put down the 'Mormon rebellion' - Thus, my pride in being Irish!

Patrick, you must be equally proud of the Irish contribution in the Bear Lake Massacre. That was an expedition just as misguided as the one to put down the "Mormon Rebellion."

I'm glad there was finally, near the end of the article, mention of early Irish Mormons. My great-grandfather, William Butler, was born near Gorey, Wexford, Ireland and arrived in Utah in 1850. he was an early settler in Ogden and left a very large posterity.

I am proud of my Irish heritage. And Patrick, my boy, I'm proud that my Irish great-grandfather was among the Mormons that burned government supply wagons during the so-called "Mormon rebellion."
