Are the EU leaders unaware of the global cooling that has happened this past year. Another Ice Age is predicted. Besides, CO2 makes up only 4 molecules in every 10,000 molecules of Nitrogen and Oxygen in the atmosphere! They are just trying to force the USA to waste money so EU products can compete.

My main disagreement with the Kyoto accords was they did not require anything of China. Im glad to see that other nations have finally figured out that exempting China from carbon controls gives the Chinese an even greater economic advantage.

Maybe increased international pressure on the US to decrease our carbon production will help us overcome our unreasonable prejudice against non-carbon producing nuclear energy.

The EU is out cutting oil deals with Iraq yet did nothing to liberate the country. How about the EU paying for the war since they are too gutless to support it with troops. They never did repay the U.S. for World War II and its aftermath.

Oh, and by the way, if the EU follows through with these trade sanctions, lets make sure we pull that $35 billion contract for the european consortium to build those air refueling tankers for the U.S. Air Force.

There is simply no evidence that CO2 has ever caused temperature change. Projections of future temperatures are based on models that have very high uncertainty, and are pre-programmed to show warming. It's circular logic: "We know that CO2 will cause global warming because the model we programmed to show that CO2 causes warming says so."

The flat temperatures of the past 10 years ought to have put the idea of CO2-driven warming to bed, but so many people are so heavily invested in it that it will take something dramatic to change their thinking.

The EU is caught in the web of "correct" thinking about global warming without demanding evidence. That has been a dangerous state of mind in their past, and we all should have learned.

Is this not EXACTLY what those cooky hate mongering people who don't want liberals mandating what countries can/can't do under the pretense of their recently being self-appointed as the Global-Warming-policia, predicted would happend next?

Once the more environment-sensative Europeans (who are obviously moraly superior to the rest of the world) claim to have the moral-high-ground on environmentalism, global-warming crusade, etc... they feel they now have the right to mandate to other countries, impose sanctions for disobdience, crush their economy if they must, etc, to FORCE other countries to live their way.

Standard operating procedure for Socialist cultures.

With regards to Art's comment: And since there is 4 times as much oxygen as nitrogen, oxygen must not be important for us either.

Sensible Scientist: No evidence that CO2 has ever caused temperature change? None at all? The earth would be the same temperature without CO2? Even Professor Chritie (king of the global warming sceptics) will tell you that without CO2 we will freeze to death and with too much we will roast. You have just lost your moniker.
