Wanted:Conservative 4 Governor | 4:27 a.m. March 12, 2008
In Huntsman's four years he has demonstrated time and time again that he is completely out of touch with the desires of Utah voters. He's for vouchers, illegal immigration, supports John McCain, and teams up with other so called "green" governors advocating clean energy sources while doing nothing to stop pollution from a new coal fired power plant that will effect ALL of Southern Utah and is mute when Italy wants to dump their nuclear waste in our state.

Huntsman is an unqualified joke.

Huntsman is a good man. He has a lot of charisma and projects a good image for Utah. He's also more progressive than most of Utah's leaders and seems to be a very intelligent, reasonable guy. It's harder for other states to view Utah as such a cultural backwater, with our governor at the helm.

Anyone but Huntsman | 8:22 a.m. March 12, 2008
Huntsman is a joke and he has not accomplished anything significant as Governor. He is out of touch with Utah and he operates on his own ego. One can only hope that this State will not re-elect Huntsman.

Wow! After reading that article, it just doesn't seem Springmeyer is that interested in running. "The Utah Democratic Party asked me too" or "I would probably have more luck in winning the lottery and "I would gladly step down if some other good, strong Democrat wanted to run". Im not a Democrat but if I were, I doubt Id be too excited about this guy running. Sounds like he (and the Democratic Party, for that matter) have already accepted defeat. Then why run? Why waste the time, money and effort?

Though I am a life long Republican, I have known and worked with Bob Springmeyer for years and have the utmost respect for him. His expertise in community and economic development has helped towns throughout the West and he would be a very fair, outstanding Governor. His perspective on the potential for a Democrat to win against Governor Huntsman are candid and on target. A Democrat has no chance of winning the upcoming election. I would rather have a candidate who was honest than one who has less integrity. Don't discount the valuable role Bob can serve during the race. While I think Governor Huntsman has done a pretty good job to date, largely due to large budget surpluses, there are areas he hasn't adequately addressed and others where he needs to be held accountable for his actions. Bob will address these areas and propose alternatives worthy of consideration.

Bob, if you don't want to run seriously, get out. Huntsman is just another Ken doll with silver spoons jutting out of every orifice. He's done absolutely nothing. His scoreboard is empty, although he takes a good picture. Stuart Matheson was the same ... totally uninterested in his own race. Where is our Utah Obama?

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
