I have been using Linux since 1996. Caldera Open Linux was one of the first Linux distributions I owned, and I bought that from the company that subsequently became SCO. In my opinion, SCO has debased itself in the eyes of its former customers and any potential customers it might have gained from its actions. I think that if I were on the legal team at Novell, I would calculate what SCO is worth, add in the $100 million from SCO's new owners, then tack on five million just for being a royal pain in the backside. In any event, I would seek an injunction against SCO to prevent them from proceeding with the cases against IBM and RedHat.
