Nuclear renaissance | 6:03 a.m. March 4, 2008
Some are pushing for a "safe and clean" nuclear renaissance, which
would require increased uranium mining. With all the concern over pollution
from coal-fired power in southern Utah of late, perhaps nuclear advocates have
become blinded by nuclear power's own health risks. Monticello's
experience indicates that nuclear power's need for uranium is far from
"safe and clean."
