They seem to be more concerned about puppies than they are about the long term welfare of our state.
This (curbing illegal immigration) is the most important issue for our state to tackle at this time. This issue is in the forefront of Utah voters minds and yet nothing has been done! So, what can you do? Call, write, or email your representatives and get them to use these last few days to pass legislation that will discourage, instead of encourage, illegal immigration in our state!
Attention to logic!
Again this year, no immigration legislation!!!
I what to puke!!!
Of course, if they don't understand immigration any more than they do wine coolers they'd probably offer not only citizenship but large tax payouts to those here illegally.
Last year, they slid the voucher thing through right at the end.
Otherwise, they have been fairly impotent.
To my knowledge the legislature still has not acted on Senator Howard Stephens math task force which would raise math standards in Utah. Math education is much degraded from the 1970's when I went to school in Utah, I know because I have kids in school now and I can see a real difference.
Hopefully the legislature will see fit to do the right thing by all the students in Utah when it comes to their math education.
This didn't take work away from an american, because if she had to pay the price an american would have charged, the house wouldn't have been built.
In effect, the HB0022, Expedited Parent-Time Enforcement Program, which is MEDIATION ONLY was presented. The language giving a Judge the latitude to change or modify visitation or custody was removed, AT THE REQUEST OF CUSTODIAL PARENTS. There are no consequences for parent-time interference.
Last year favored custodial parents, and likewise this year.
It is proven that children who have a relationship with their fathers have less emotional problems, suicides, substance abuse, and criminal activity. Also proven that fathers involved with their children pay child support PLUS. So how does it make sense to continue to pay millions to ORS for collecting Child Support, and millions for Court Costs, Programs and Institutes to deal with the end result of fatherlessness. PUT FATHER'S BACK IN THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN.
An education will do them not go since they can't legally get a job in the US as an illegal alien. Furthermore, they are supposed to be taking the jobs that Americans don't want. Are there jobs available to college grads the Americans don't want? I don't think so.
