Deseret Duel is the dumbest thing that anyone ever came up with. Who cares about anything beyond basketball and football besides the mothers of the players? Think anyone really cares that the Utah women routed BYU on Tue? Before you get huffy and puffy, you can't tell me you truly care unless you were at the game.

Speaking of at the game, I recognize that the reported attendance tonight would've filled the Energy Solutions, but I was disappointed that it wasn't sold out. Both fan bases are to blame.

BYU's playing well. Interesting to see what might happen if these two meet up again in Vegas.

Anonymous, you think the Deseret Duel is dumb, just because the Utes are losing. Turn the tables, and that's all we would here about.

Deseret Duel is indeed dumb | 9:40 a.m. Feb. 21, 2008
Not a bad idea, but flawed by it's ridiculous awarding of points system

No, I wouldn't care if the Utes won every match...I called it dumb the day I saw it. And when the Utes win it (not saying it'll happen this year), you won't "here" about it from me...it'll still be stupid.

All big rivalries seem to have a soponsored duel these days (the Lexus Gauntlet for example is the USC vs. UCLA challenge).

Yes I agree I probably couldn't care less about swimming. But whenever I see BYU beat Utah in anything I enjoy it.

So the duel might be irrelevant but it is nice to have the rivalry recognized among the top rivalries around with a sponsored trophy. Football and basketball points far outweigh the rest so I guess it's relatively fun.

I think that the Deseret Duel is a good idea. Any time that BYU can continue to beat Utah in something it can't be bad.

It is just natural that BYU continues their win streak. And come on, I mean, how could they ever lose to the Utes this year? The Utes are really bad so it isn't weird but just really exciting and fun when the Cougars crush the Utes. So go Cougars! They are going to get a long, big, high record especially since Memphis might lose soon. Go Cougars and let them extend their streak!!!
