Fast, and probably cheap fix for a back up center who can play defense. Name is
Justin Williams. Kings just released him with the Bibby trade. Don't
think that anybody has picked him up. Rebounds and blocks shots like a mad man.
Just hasn't been getting any P.T. Way better than Collins, and
doesn't have to pick the system up much to play defense. No way the Jazz
can contend in the west in the playoffs without more big men. Gasol, Shaq,
Timmy D, Stoudamire, even Camby and Chandler, all will be big problems for Okur.
Williams is a taller Millsap.

I don't think Ben Wallace would be a good pick up. Statistically he has
the worst free throw percentage in the league. He loses value in that you
don't want him playing in the final minutes of close games. Also, from a
defensive standpoint, if you look back at the Pistons championship runs it
wasn't BW guarding the best big man on opposing teams, it was Rasheed
Wallace...ie, Tim Duncan. BW is overrated.

The jazz cannot trade for Ben Wallace without giving up a high salary guy to get
the deal done under the cap. That would mean AK or a combo of Okur/Harpring and
no way that happens. The bulls are stuck with ben Wallace and his big contract.
No NBA team wants Ben Wallace (including the bulls) and his sour attitude.

Actually, the Wallace trade may be a good short-term move. We get some added
defense in the middle. He doesn't have to score as we have plenty of
scoring talent. He can be out in the last few minutes of the game, no
problem.
Plus, and BIG plus here, there will be more cash available when Williams next contract kicks in as Wallace's contract expires before Kirilenko's.

nobody else - even if they were the best inside players. Oh yeah, and he also
used to do color commentary on Jazz TV.

I think we shouldnt trade any of the players that went to new orleans last
weekend. The rest are expendable especially AK and his bogus contract. AK's
salary could be the reason D-will could leave the jazz.

Why Trade? Currently Millsap is backing up Boozer and Okur. We have a 3 man
rotation - it's a beautiful thing. Any Back-up Center we get takes minutes
from Millsap - Trading Collins, Hart and either Miles or a Draft pick for a back
up center is a mistake (Jeff Foster comes to mind at 5.5 million a year for 6
pts and 8 rebounds in 23 minutes compared to Millsap 8 pts and 6 rebounds in 20
minutes) A back-up center will take Millsap minutes.
Wallace - Are you kidding me!!! He 15 millions for 5 pts and 8 rebounds in 32 minutes a game. - His numbers per 48 minutes are worse than Millsap in points and rebounds. Shot Blocking: Wallace 2.4blk/48m to Millsap 1.8blk/48m) I don't think the Jazz should pay 15 million for .8 blocks a game. Plus we would have to give Kirilinko to get Wallace who is a much better shot blocker then either of them. Wallace numbers are declining with his age. By the way - minus his freakishly tall hair - Millsap is as tall as Ben Wallace at 6'9 and Wallace was an All-Star Center back in his prime.

I am a huge Millsap fan, but the fact is, he is too short to play center without
getting in foul trouble. Happens all of the time. No way he or Boozer can
guard the centers in the west. Got to get help or bring Fez up to give guys
like Timmy and Shaq black eyes. Trade Okur and Miles and get somebody back to
play defense. Don't need anymore offense. Can't believe that I said
that. Bad mouthed Ostertag and Eaton for years for having little offense.

I hear ya Keeler. When we had Eaton, all I did was pine for Ewing and Hakim. I
liked Eaton then, but griped about his lack of "O". If we had Eaton in
his prime now, we'd have a champ trophy this year.

Why not just bring up Fesenko? He's been pretty strong defensively in the D-leauge. Try and work him in for 5-10 minutes a game (basically just give him most of Collins minutes) to get him some experience so he can be a contributor come playoff time, sort of like Haffa was last year. In a pinch he could be good for four fouls and maybe a block and a couple of rebounds in 10-15 minutes of guarding an elite center, and unlike Haffa or Collins Fesenko may actuallly score a couple of points too.

The Jazz DO NOT need to trade anyone at this point of the season. We made a
great move in getting Kyle Korver, and freeing up the offensive side. Grant it
we do need a little defense on our frontline. Booz cant stop anyone to save his
life and Okur only shows up to play defense when a guy named Yao is on the
hardwood. But unless we can trade collins, price/hart and maybe a few draft
picks for a GOOD center such as Camby, Brad Miller, or my dream-center, Dwight
Howard, than we shouldn't even consider it. I say wait till the off-season
and pick up a decent back-up, defensive-oriented center and a good back-up pg
such as D-Fish was and we'll take the championship. Or we could get a guy
in the draft named KENNY GEORGE, check this guy out! He's 7'8",
360 pounds!!! Doesn't even have to jump to dunk, it's insane!!!
But for now I say we bring Fez up and get him some REAL minutes and get him ready for the playoffs. He looks like a good center with some game on both ends. As for this year we have a shot! Go Jazz!!!

great winning streak that put them first in their devison. They don't need

Yah, Kenny George is a beast. Problem is that I have one leg and a bunion on my
big toe and can still outrun him and I am in better shape. Seriously! Fez is
the key. I saw what Haffa did to Duncan in a couple of games last year in the
regular season. Can't figure out why he wasn't getting 20 minutes a
night in the playoffs against the Spurs. Timmy gets rattled and doesn't
like being roughed up. Fez would keep him on his toes and prevent Boozer and
Millsap from getting into foul trouble. Wish Boozer would head down to
Louisiana this summer to learn how to be aggressive and to learn a trick or two
from you know who.

The only trade to me (Jazz fans don't like me but I will proceed anyway)
that makes cents for the Jazz is Mehmet Okur for Andres Biedrins. You are all
laughing right now but Biedrins would give the Jazz another tuff rebounder and
he is a tuff defener. The Jazz have enough shooters they need more defence and
a tougher center presence. I guess their is won more trade that wood make cents
to me. I would say the other dill that makes cents wood be Okur and Kirilenko
for Jermaine O'Neal, Jeff Foster. That wood give the Jazz 2 more tuff guys
down low Foster and Millsap as back ups and you wood get rid of AK contract and
O neal wood not need to be the go two guy just kind of what Shack is doing for
Phenix. That's what I wood do.

Jazzsmack is up in the night. I do agree that you have to bring someone into
address the middle, but all of the above trades make no sense for the Jazz. The
Jazz either need to part ways with Booz, or Okur. Booz is undersized and it
shows when playing better teams in the West. Okur has never been a presense in
the middle, but does bring a better shot to the table. I would hate to part
with either, but if the Jazz had KG instead of Booz I think they are winning the
championship this year.

Thank you force! Finally I have a Jazz fan that agrees with me about Fesenko. I
am already sick of the nickname "Fes." What has this guy done to even
earn a nickname. This guy is not ready to be in the league, he may have some
talent but other than his good 6 mins against the Lakers, the other 2 times I
have seen him he looked clumsy and turned the ball over. Stop crowning this guy
over 6 good minutes. He is where he belongs right now!!!

You are as observant as Ron "the Master of the Obvious" Boone. KJZZ
has an announcer position opening up and you are the man for the job. What you
people tend to forget was the statement by K O'C. "We only have 14
players under contract." The Jazz don't necessarily need to trade to
feel the vacancy. They could easily pick someone up on a short term deal. I
have a hard time believing we are going to trade for any of the leftover cancer
players whining that they want a change of scenery. Although Ben Wallace deal
is intriguing. It would free up 21 million and allow us to sign D-Will to the
max and be under the luxury tax within 2 years. LHM says he will now pay the
tax but I don't seem him paying it consistently year after year. A trade
is imminent but I don't think it will happen until the off-season. Until
then gear up for the playoffs. How 'bout them Jazz!

I agree, we Jazz fans do drink Fez Kool-aid from time to time, but give me a
break. He was in the D-League All-Star game. He's like 19-20 years old! I
think he's got more upside than just a D-League scrub. He may be no star,
but if he could become a solid journeyman in the middle, that's all we
need.
Honestly, if he could come in and fill an "Antoine Carr"-type role stuffing the middle on D, that's better, check that, far better than what we have now.

Force? Seriously. He isn't average in the D League, he is an Allstar. In
most people's books that is good enough for the NBA. Nobody has said he is
the next Kareem but he is definitely more that the few fouls, turnovers and
flops known as Collins. At least Fez will stay on his feet.

seriously Fess was an allstar in the D league. I was an allstar in the sandy
south stake three years in a row. We ruled church ball. I bet I could make the
allstar in the d league. In 3 years we may think of fess as: Rich Kelly, Mark
Eaton, Greg Ostertag, James Donaldson, or if he is lucky Joel Pryzbila. So until
then lets just wait and see, and a new nick name for fess is LURCH from the
adamms family.

How about Kurt Thomas from the sonics? Seatle rarely uses him and i think they
might welcome a trade. He has always been a solid defender, and has a nice shot
from 10 to 15 feet.

Love the Kurt Thomas idea. Seattle is rebuilding and probably would give him up
and be open to trades. At this point I am not sure who the Jazz would give up,
maybe an expiring contract and a draft pick. Thomas would help tremendously in
the post in my opinion. Good thought.

First of all, the Jazz aren't going to trade any of their all-stars by the
deadline (okur, dwill, booz, ak) You all are crazy to think that you could find
a good trade involving okur. as soon as he is draining game winning 3's for
another team, you will be cursing o'conner. plus okur ranks 14 in blocks
per game (higher than b.wallace) and can make shots/free throws.
i agree that the jazz need a physical C to play shaq and duncan (who whines about physical play) which....makes me wish araujo was on the bench. Fess is not the answer, he isn't strong or quick enough yet to guard either of those guys. He may be next year after some time with.... a weight training nut (like araujo.) For all you araujo haters, i hate byu as much as you, but araujo wouldn't have been a bad sign for 2 yrs 3mil.
I say the jazz keep this group together and see how far they can go. seems to me the spurs have kept the same 3 guys for a while and done ok.

Having seen him play many times (up close and in person) I don't see how anyone can consider him a lumbering oaf.

Something funny about Okur. I have heard so many people calling to get rid of
him when I don't think many people see his value. He did a great job on
Yao in the playoffs, so he actually can paly decent post defense, he also drags
the center away from the hoop which is valuable. As for me, yeah I would rather
have Dwight Howard down there, or even a Ben Wallace or a more physical presence
but the Jazz don't have that and there are not any trades out there that
would bring anyone like that in, so how about everyone quits bagging on Memo who
has hit countless game winners anyway and appreciate what the guy does do well.
There are only a handful of good centers out there anyways. I like the Kurt
Thomas idea though, but the only way I see that happening is by trading maybe a
