You can bet your bottom dollar that tobacco industry lobbyists are all over this thing. The excuse that Wimmer is an ex-police officer just doesn't fly. There's the stench of backroom deals all over this.

Ever speak to Wimmer or any legislator for that matter? You throw out degrading accusations of possible corruption, without knowing a thing. Could it be that some people simply stand on principle?

Carl Wimmer did not vote against this because of a "backroom deal". He voted based on principal and this was consistant with his voting record. Carl and I are on the opposite side of this issue but I respect his views and admire his integrity.
