What an impressive story. In today's NBA, it's so refreshing to see players like Fisher and Boozer who put family first.
Utah is lucky to have a player as talented as Boozer on its roster. He'll make them a force in the West for the foreseeable future. But they're also lucky to have him because of the quality guy he is.

Carlos was a good kid in Juneau, and his father seemed ever-present in his life. It looks like Carlos is taking parenthood to the next level as well.

I love to see us Alaska guys do well!

If anyone puts up a post about how they don't thinkBoozer deserves to be an all star on this blog they need to have their heads checked. Besides being a great player, he's a good team mate and a good family guy. Perfect fit. (though I will concede the 'D' needs a little work, lol)

I'm wondering where J(ust) Slo is getting his numbers from when he says that Boozer's shooting percentage is better this year (.561) than last (.535). On the other hand his steals are slightly up and his turnovers are slightly down, so overall it would appear that he is improving. Especially encouraging is his recent triple double and near triple double. Now if he can just avoid injury in second half of the season we've got a great chance.

Animo, Carlos. I am a fan of you since Duke. You're a great guy and a fantastic player and a better father. I remember your grandma and your mother looking at your games and I thought: That's a great boy! Go Carlos! A fan from Spain.

I'm a newbie Jazz fan. Just started watching them last year. I loved watching Boozer from the start. He's my kind of player. Talking to RB Sr. one day while he was in Utah with "the boys," asked him about Boozer, "Please tell me he's a nice guy..." He replied, "Even nicer then you think." It's so refreshing to see a talented player who's a great competitor who isn't also a jerk.

Carlos has come a long way, and should be an inspiration to any young player in the league. He was considered to be a late first round pick (Utah had him on the list) but never lost the weight that sloweed him in college. Sure, he was quick for his size, had good hands, but was not in shape, and not much different from alot of guys playing in the D League. As a result, he slipped to the second round. He then made training a priority (like Karl, Stock) and has created and maintained a sculpted body while inproving every aspect of his game.

Yeah...can anyone imagine how good players like Marbury, Shaq could be if the had Booze's dedication.
