In response to this article: what a crock!

"He turned into a, gasp, politician. He started using talking points. He listened to advisers. He chased votes and dollars over hearts and souls. When he spoke he looked like a mannequin."

Mitt's "handlers" may have cost him the election. As a Mitt supporter, even I decried his "pat," repetitive speeches. . .no warmth, no "connection" to his listeners. If there's going to be a comeback in 2012, Mitt, you'd better watch a lot of Obama speeches and learn from his ability to connect to the people. Your policies are great and your ability superior, but your communication skills seem rehearsed. I'll bet you gave better "speeches" in church while serving as Bishop!

Let it go. Romney was a loser from the beginning. He had more changes than a circus clown. The only place he was a safe bet was Utah, of course, and we all know why. Romney as president? Ha! I'd rather have Clarabell the Clown.

Mitt didn't "rescue" the Olympics. Most was already in place. The miscreants were fired, he came in smiling.

As a volunteer, I saw the other side of Mitt. When he visited our venue to thank us, he quickly strode down the hall without looking at any of us. He went directly to the fancy buffet that had been brought in especially for him, and met with only a few volunteers. (Anyone who was a volunteer, and saw the pig-slop presented as "food", knows how disgusting it was to see trays of beautiful food carried high to a "you can't go there" area.)

Did anyone else notice that Mitt always seems out of breath when he talks, with an odd cadence. An independent-voting couple I know said that they couldn't vote for him, just because they didn't want to hear him pant for four years.

We already have a CEO/MBA President. That's worked out well for us, hasn't it?

Benson, I agree with you 110 percent.

Sorry Benson, that was the real Mitt running for Prez. I too saw him during the Olympics and found him to be stilted, arrogant, and impersonal. His performance over the past year was true to form.

Mitt's problem was a lot like Lee Benson's -- he thinks he's so smart he has to talk down to people. The public know when they're being patronized, and it's the kiss of death (Rudy had a similar problem, only worse, so he got flushed first). Mitt should concentrate on being President of the Church one day.

I agree with muchh of Benson's article, but disagree MOST strongly that John McCain is "over the hill mean spirited".
....Mitt lost me when he started attacking EVERYONE in both parties and called John McCain another liberal Democrat.
....I can NO longer support John McCain now that he is pandering to the Rush Limbaugh extreme right wing of the rePublican Party.

We don't know the real Mitt, if there is one. He changes depending on his audience. I believe the Republican marketers would assign the Flip-Flopper description to him.

I haven't been impressed with any of the candidates on either side. It's a sorry state of affairs when this country can't get someone better than these who we have on the ballot to run for president.
Pretty sad. Every major political office is bought and paid for. Things ain't gonna change.

I agree with Jordan. Right on. If you can see through one phony you can see through them all. Lee Benson, Doug Robinson, and Larry Miller are all in the same elitist, condescending ship as Mitt Romney.

Benson, you have amazing insight on this one. I am with you all the way. And I am looking forward to 2012!
