Choir presents program to honor Pres. Hinckley

We came from Europe and took my daughter and niece to see the Choir's Christmas broadcast, and we all watched President Hinckley make his entry and final farewell to the Conference Center. It is now a bittersweet memory. We love and miss President Hinckley and will always think of him when we hear the choir.

Some occasions would be beyond my mortal ability to even imagine in their sublime nature. So it is with the beautiful description of the choir as it surrounded the casket of our beloved President. It must have been though the heavens themselves opened and the angelic choir of the universe offered its serenade to their sweet prophet. Thank you choir, for your ability to enlarge our hearts and teach us of things of eternity with your voices.

Imagine a large table surrounded by 15 chairs, one was empty, waiting for him. The others were filled by all the prophets of the last dispensation. The chair is now occupied. He is a man among men, a great man among great men.

Always enjoy listening to the Tabernacle Choir and Music and the Spoken Word. It is a Sunday Morning treat.

Our local station that carries it Sunday morning
is on AM 1600 (kuba) and we hear it at 8:30 on Sunday mornings.

Believe we hear the programs a few weeks later because of distribution and mail service.

Looking forward to hearing the Tribute to
Gordon B. Hinckley.

I'm sure his family appreciated all those hymns and songs that the Tabernacle Choir sang.

Maybe President Hinckley was watching and listening
too from the other side of the vail.

Music and the Spoken word is re-broadcast each Sunday at 7:00 am and 3:00 pm Mountain time on BYUTV and 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Mountan time on KBYU. This is usually the program from the previous week. As a choir member-I can assure you that there was truly a special spirit in the room as we gathered around President Hinkley's mortal remains and joined in song to thank this wonderful man and his family. During the funeral-there was a special feeling too that permeated the choir loft. It felt like we were truly joined by heavenly choirs.

My sabbath begins at 6:30 each Sunday morning as I watch the choir on the Hallmark chanel on the East Coast. This sacred time sets the tone for my entire sabbath. I cannot express my love and appreciation adquately for this "America's Choir" Your voices and the instrumental accompliments are supreme and a joy to listen to. I was fortunate to be at a live broadcast in November 07, and when the first sounds came, it sent vibrations through my being and I was all choaked up. I wish ever person in this world could have that experience just once in a lifetime.
I do not think the choir has ever been to NC or close by that I could attend in person. Please come to the south east before I die, I am 77 now.

our sunday starts with the tabernacle choir. It is a great way to start the Sabbath. We also gave CD's of the Tab. choir to all of our neighbors. We will miss this great leader, but we already have another great leader in Pres. Monson. Stu, Claremont ca.

We have been home in La Grande, Oregon for 5 months from our Family and Church History mission in Salt Lake City. We often attended the broadcast of the Tabernacle Choir and then went to the JS building where we waved at President Hinkley as he left his Sacrament meeting. Then we went over to the Salt Lake Stake Center to attend our Branch meetings. This was the highlights of the week and we loved his humor and twinkle in his eye as he waved his cane at us. He will truely be missed. Our love and gratitude to his family for sharing him with us.

Pres. Hinckley inspired me to love my fellow man more. He truly lived what he believed and taught. I am sad that my great grand children will never get to hear his sweet voice or see his sweet smile. His humor was wonderful and will be missed by all the world. My sympathy goes to his wonderful family. Thank you for sharing him with me.

Our family had the privelege of meeting Pres. Hinckley when he was an apostle 25 years ago. What a truly inspired prophet and leader of the church...what an absolute tireless servant of God. While we will always love him,and miss him dearly, it's quite the joyous reunion with his beloved Marjorie. What a giant in word and deed.!!

President Hinckley was truly a Prophet of God. I always enjoyed his smile and the love he showed when he spoke at Conference. I will never forget him. He was an inspiration to us all. He will be missed by all the Saints in Texas. He showed us how to be faithful servants of God. We should all strive to be like President Hinckley. May
God Bless his Family. I know that he is with all the Prophets of this Dispensation. I know he is reunited with his Eternal Companion and his Kindred Dead who have gone on before him. I know we have a living Prophet,Thomas S. Monson,who will lead us into the future with the same determination and dedication that our Beloved Prophet, Gordon Bitner Hinckley, did while he was on this earth. I know this Church is true!1 I know that we will continue in our growth and be Blessed as we follow the Teachings of all the Prophets. May Zion spread throughout the World in this the Latter Days! To the person from Kentucky, I looked it up and there are 12 stations in Kentucky that broadcast Music and the Spoken Word. Just go to the tabenacle choir website, which is an org site, and you will learn all sorts of stuff. They have a link from there where you can learn all about music and the spoken word. It is not the best search, because you do state by state, so you might want to ckeck in neighboring states to where you live to see if anyone nearby that way broadcasts it. I hope this will allow you to find what you are looking for.
