Deport them!!! | 8:38 a.m. Feb. 4, 2008
What part of illegal don't these lawbreakers get? We are all for LEGAL taxpaying citizens, but not ILLEGAL delinquent taxpayers. They are abusing our government and getting a cheap loan on law-abiding and taxpayers time. It's time we send a message to the capitol that enough is enough! Shut down their businesses and tell them to get out our state. We only want TIMELY taxpayers. This scheme is nothing but AMNESTY for lawbreakers.

Lee, you need to do your job better. A little research and you would realized that Monticello Academy, a charter school, is a public school. They are currently appealing the taxes because public, tax supported entities should never use their tax funds to pay property taxes. Be more careful next time.

throw out? | 2:58 p.m. Feb. 4, 2008
Soooo... we should throw out Delta, Swift and the rest of the companies that employ Utah workers, because they pay interest to Utah on taxes they owe? If they never pay the tax then the government seizes all their assets and sells them to pay the tax debt. At least these companies pay tax eventually. Some people/companies never do pay their share of taxes.

Irritated by misrepresentation! | 10:30 p.m. March 29, 2008
Mount Hyrum Academy (the legal name) is a tax exempt organization and the paperwork was filed correctly. Mistakes happen--like paperwork getting filed under the wrong account or applied to the wrong division. MHA's was applied to personal property, rather than land and building. Perhaps homework should be done or a contact made to companies before slander happens!!!

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
