It's about time we had laws protecting the american workers in the workforce. This illeal alien discrimination has been going on long enough. It's too bad they didn't make this law retroactive so the americans that are unemployed and displaced by the illegal aliens can't get their jobs back. Then another question is how does anyone know if an employer does an e-verfy on a illegal foreign national? How can the employees of a business access this information? Still some work to do and this law should be an immediate law that goes in to effect as soon as it is passed. It's time the american people received some rights and protections in the workforce, a step in the right direction. You can bet the ACLU is going to screaming bloddy murder and discrimination, but this is reverse discrimination FOR the american people and not some misguide illegals that think they have rights as criminals illegals. One other thing is if an illegal foreign national is present in this country they should be denied any request for citizenship until they return to their own country and file through the proper channels.

GOOD JOB. Please pass them all into law & don't knuckle down to the Church groups, or special interest groups. If we could pick and choose what laws to break, I'd refuse to pay property taxes. Why should illegal immigrants be exempt from breaking any laws and given breaks?

All of these proposals look perfectly reasonable to me. I don't see any reason any of them should not be implemented.

I think we have a law that should be upheld. No illegales in the unitet states. Give workpermits to people that would be needed,give a certain time limit on work permits, so that people have a chance to better them selfs. But dont make the american citicen the scapegoat with havy taxes because of the illegales. You can make more laws but what good are they if they're not upheld.

There will be the "unintended" consequence of requiring every citizen to have ID to prove their legality. That's what happened in Germany (I'm old enough to remember) And the "ID thing" in order to hold a job is a part of the Communist Manifesto 10 points for taking over a free nation.

However, any illegal involved in gangs, DUI, or Identity theft should be deported with never any hope of coming back. Of course they must be required to make reparations.

And the welfare programs that these illegals are using are all unconstitutional, anyway, for all of us.We are all trying to "legally" steal from each other rather than provide for ourselves.

wet blanket ..I am fighting for my and other's children who are just entering the American workforce. Example one of them was working at a nearby resort and was being rudely supervised by an illegal who favored his mexican constitutents. Until it was challenged and the INS was contacted. Now after the clearing house ordeal he has a fine Hispanic American supervisor who was accorded the privileges of being here legally.The only thing humanatarian is to treat the legals who are here making a life better..does not matter wheter green, red, yellow, black, white..make it and keep it legal so that that playing field is even. Other Ameican will relocate to work opportunities legally ..this population is always harping about how americans are lazy and the prices will rise ..at least I am ready to pay higher prices for the legal stuff and not stolen by the hands of another. Let's find out if Legal is the way to go. I live the laws of the land as I teach my children to but to see this everyday in front of my face doesn't seem like freedom to me!

All i have to say if all of your ancestors had the opportunity to work here took over the united states when it really belonged to the native americans all other immigrants like everyone in this country should have the same opportunity. This country is made up of immigrants, including all of you!!

Bush loves to tell everyone that we are a nation of laws. There are lots of laws that we have to address many of these things RIGHT NOW. When this passes, we have even more laws and the lawmakers will pat themselves on the back. The people will smile and think that all is right. Meantime we will still have the same problems that we have now because no one does anything to enforce the laws that we currently have. What makes you think that these new laws will get enforced? Courts will still mandate that services be given to illegals at the expense of citizens, courts will still require that illegal children drive the student/teacher ratio in our schools up, and thousands will still cross the border nightly into this country. All of this is simply to make the politicians look good while still being totally useless when it comes to seeing real results. Google for "Organ Pipe Cactus National Park" and see what happens down there every day in just that one small part of the southern border.

A lot of these laws are straight from Apartheid South Africa. Now I could give a neighbor, who's illegal, a ride to work and be cited with a class A misdemeanor. Classic. Creating a culture of fear and suspicion and built in racism. The state is essentially saying if their last name is Perez (or Wong, or Watanabe, or Azziz), before you hire them, better get on the internet and make sure they're clear.

The e-verify portion of this is applicable only for employment in government situations. It does not yet apply to all employers.

I own my own business. In order to legally hire my sister's son, I had to prove my nephew (via paperwork) was legal to work in the USA. I have to keep the paperwork on file for years. I was there when he was born at a local hospital. My family has been here for generations. One "little" thing... He is white with an "Anglo" surname.

We have always been papered people. We must carry a current driverï¿½s license to legally drive. We must be able to show proof (papers) of auto insurance if we own a car operated on any road. We must register (papers) our automobiles. We must own a home or have proof our landlord doesn't object (papers), if we want to adopt a dog. Our dogs must be licensed and often they are papered. If we want cable TV we must prove we own the home or have written (papers)permission from the landlord. The list goes on...

Trying to scare people into accepting illegal immigrants is MUCH worse than the people wanting laws enforced.

To tumadre, get an education and find a better argument than this. Times have changed over the last 200 years and arguing that we are all immigrants is quite pointless. Yes people did migrate here many years ago, they also paid large sums of money to come here, they migrated here legally, they paid taxes when they were here, and they didn't have everything given to them when they got here. Also, many of those people 200 years ago also returned back to their homeland. And if you look back thru history far enough you would find out even the Indians migrated here. Few people have problems with people immigrating here, but they need to do so legally, they need to respect and obey our country and our laws, and they need to earn what they get rather than drain all of our resources.

American law equals South African Aparthied??? What have you been reading ? I suspect something very un-American. If the majority of crimes are being committed by a identifiable group of illegal aliens then let the local, state and federal authorities act on the obvious information and deport them.

Other states have been successful with similar laws. It is not against the Union to enforce State laws that do not conflict with Fed laws.
