However, I noted in the case of Mr. Iriart's commentary to this news article that he infers that we (the public-at-large) should automatically assume that there are many other city recorders and town clerks who are and would do the same and that government cannot be trusted.
I would like for Mr. Iriart and others who feel this way to understand that holding such a justification as to consider us all corrupt based upon the actions of one or a few others is an argument that doesn't hold water.
You see, I am a city recorder myself, and I stand behind my comments by virtue of disclosing my name along with my commentary. I work for the City of Delta, and have along with my many colleagues a track record of years and years and years of absolutely clean audits and no blemishes upon my record. I am just one of more than 200 other people who have a history like mine across this great state of performing their jobs in a proper manner.
