Giuliani officially drops out, endorses McCain

Remember, Giuliani has been seen as representing the very moderate/centrist segment of the Republican/Independent Republican party... in other words, he is the curx of the 'Tipping Point' of the nomination process for the Republican party... that McCain now inherits... which is another important boost to his campaign for nomination by the Republicans.

One thing for sure, if Romney looses the nomination or has to bow out, he will have pushed one of the worse business decisions of his life... the spending of millions of dollars on an endeavor he was destined to never win but insisted on doing because somewhere inside of him he had that hysteric moment that somehow God would make it happen for him. Fact is, he only did a sloppy feasibility study of the possibilities... and overlooked or ignored things he would never have done as a rational, thinking and experienced business maven.

He's going to have to go to Michigan and run for governor, and if he wins, PROVE that he's the conservative politician he claims he now is, and then, and only then, will the Republican party at large take him seriously. He has to first walk the talk to be taken seriously.

I think Romney had a real chance of winning. The problems came when he put down a strategy to win. Changing positions or emphases regularly, taking shots at candidates right and left, positioning himself as the conservative of conservatives, that is what did him in. He could easily have taken the position both McCain and Giuliani now dominate, the economic conservative/socially less conservative position, where most Americans find themselves, and backed it up with his record. But he chose to position himself differently and it will haunt him the rest of the election. Who knows though. Hillary wins, four years later no one is happy, Romney could come back.

They say a change is as good as a vacation and if thats true then the amount of times that Mitt has changed his mind means he has been on a permanent vacation! I have to say though, if he is an example of a good LDS with all of his flip flopping, attacks on his competitors, his support, then not on abortion etc, etc well then heaven help all of us. I didnt like McCain at the begining, but when I see him up against Mitt he looks like a REAL winner and a gentleman. All of this is a mute point though as either Hillary or Obama are going to win........

I think Mitt Romney never had a chance of winning. He is all tactics and no strategy because he has no core, no backbone. Romney has flip-flopped on every divisive issue in America. Mitt is a chameleon at a time when America craves authenticity.

The fat lady hasn't finished singing. Mitt can make a come back. Even with or maybe because Guliani is backing McCain. G. has no core. And he and McCain looked like two old duffers up there talking tonight. Looked like a medicare convention.

To paraphrase someone, it is morning in America. But the electorate has changed. The public wants healthy looking and vigorous leaders. Mitt still looks healthier and handsomer than McCain. Mitt should be "caught" by the camera doing something physical (and not cutting brush for a photo op either). He should be "caught" playing basketball with his sons, or ping pong with the wife. DO SOMETHING to look vigorous!! (But don't mention the church part of not smoking... good grief there are lots of us who don't smoke and aren't Mormons).

Don't worry, McCain won't stike back by being "caught" running or jogging or moving faster than 3 miles an hour. The age issue of McCain is a serious drawback, and Mitt needs to show some muscle, some action, some vertical jumping. Just move and get caught by the camera. Yes!!

Move quickly before the fat lady sings!

Business leaders should speak to the press about endorsing Mitt Romney. The world will listen the economy is very important in everyone�s minds.

In regards to the person who says Romney is Fake. I really do not appreciate the comment they made about members of the church. In actuality you are talking of all people every where, not just members of the church. Many people, (and I bet if I knew you I could say the same of you) say one thing and do another. It is just that he is running for president, so he is noticed much more than others who do what you say he does.

The world is full of dishonest people, sad to say. If everyone did exactly what they should and followed through as they say and were honest, then what a peaceful world this would be. No law suits, no jails, no prisons. No dishonesty in politics, like we all see. And there certainly would not be any bickering and negative campaigning. We could live in harmony with each other. Now everyone who thinks they are better than Mr. Romney needs to take a good hard look at themselves. I think they will find skeletons in their own closet.

McCain is getting the endorsements, media hype and also has the momentum so unless he makes a huge blunder I don't see Mitt coming back. I didn't think Mitt gained any ground in the debate and I now I hear the govenator is endorsing McCain tomorrow.

If Mitt has anything left he better pull it out quick because his ship is sinking. I don't want to hear his overused slogan about how he knows why jobs come and go, his experience in the private sector or about the Olympics. He wore all these out and needs something new. I am just not convinced on his credentials and experience.

Anyone know the last President that was considered a moderate? Can be either Republican or Democrat, thanks.

As a recent transplant to Utah from Kansas, I can tell you that America is not ready for an LDS president. We aren't familiar with your secretive faith and are suspicious of your holier than thou platitudes on family values. What lurks behind the Mormon curtain? Romney is still in the race. The race was very close in Florida. Romney is the only candidate that has received over 50% of the vote in a state. Romney keeps expanding my expectations for him. The more I see of him, the more I like him. The guy is fair and honest and his flips do make sense. I studied political science in America and abroad. Romney was the only candidate to fix the economy. Now he appears to be the only candidate to fix the save the republican party. Romney has always been my favorite in the debates and he would represent American well to the world. His education and expertise do show through. I am also impressed by his family, more so than any other candidates family running. I am supporting Romney all of the way to the white house. It is ridiculous for anyone to give up on Romney because he barely lost Florida after the governor endorsed McCain last minute. Romney would have won otherwise and the polls and experts agree with this.

Romney has a great chance of winning the nomination. He has exceeded many person's expectations. McCain is not really that strong of a competition if voters are informed about him. His age and emotional temper are negatives, as is his sense of entitlement. McCain knows nothing of the economy and destroyed his family after coming back as a prisoner of war. If you can't learn character as a prisoner of war, then you probably are not going to learn it from any experience.

Moreover, hope your stay in Utah turns out better than it has. Feel free to come to church anytime. We wouldn't hold back anything; every member is entitled to the same blessings. There is nothing secret about it. And Gayle is my mother in law. Definitely the most loving woman (beyond my own mother) that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I hope things turn out better for you.
