The drug court programs have been very succesful at rehabilitating addicts. This is a much better solution than jail time and should be expanded.

This is what "corrections" is all about. I always get a chuckle when I drive by the Point of the Mountain and see a "State Corrections" sign. Prison does not correct. Prison punishes. I am not saying there is not a need for that, only lets call it what it is. Calling an apple an orange doesn't change the flavor. Prison makes better crimnals, correction changes behavior. My hat's off to the 4th district court for taking a chance on this and also to the men who had the courage to not give up. Good luck to you all.

Congratulations guys! This is a real accomplishment, and shows your inner strength to do amazing things now in your lives. You will have a special empathy for others struggling with additions and can mentor in a way not possible without your experiences. Good luck in all you do. May the Lord continue to bless you in your lives as you make wise choices. There are a lot of family and friends that are extremely proud of you and your inner strength to overcome life's challenges.
