I watched Craig Ferguson late last night, and he was talking about becoming a US Citizen soon. He also mentioned that President Bush's final State of the Union address "was like a farewell, special edition of 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?' "

Just a confirmation that people do not care how disrespectful they are.. That is a sad commentary.

In truth, it was an excellent talk. He did a wonderful job once again to try to get people to think.

Nancy Pelosi once again should be ashamed at her behaviour as should Harry Reid (a particular/peculiar embarrassment), and Hillary Clinton. No wonder there is so much disrespect, it comes from the highest places and obviously trickles down to the lowest...

I thought your comment was right on! The only offense would be to the 5th Grader. Oh, and to Indiana, my parents always taught me that respect was something you earned. No matter who you are.

Just a note about dis-respect - shouldn't the president respect our intelligence? When he says, "American families have to balance their budget and the government should have to do the same" does he really think we don't realize that he's the one writing $3.5 trillion worth of bad chacks over the past 7 years?

Actually, I think he has earned respect and plenty of it. I just think there are some people out there who are deluded by the bad press and the lies and contentions of the other side of the aisle...

He is not the only one responsible for the budget... don't forget the part that the liberal congress plays. I think he knows how smart some of the people are and how not smart others are.

I think he is a man to be respected and I do beleive he has done much to prove that including keep us all much safer than we may otherwise have been... There are still alot of wise people out there who understand what he has done for this country. I am grateful that there are some who are not fooled by lies and planned degradations...

Indiana's entitled to feel however he/she wants about Bush. But it's not every president who hits 80% plus popularity, then nosedives to around 30%. It must be pretty effective "lies and planned degradations" (whatever that is)if 2/3 of the country believes it.

I'm not a big fan of authoritarianism.
I've never had to be "subject to Kings, Rulers, Presidents, or Magistrates."
Consequently I can ultimately make my own decisions on ... everything.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yep, I can have my own opinions and I do as you can see. Here is another, I believe that in years to come, GWB will actually be hailed as one of the best presidents that we have ever been blessed with.

My explanation of planned lies and degradations. I think there was a well orchestrated plan to ruin him thus giving more steam and power to others. I recently found out about a plan by ooo I cannot remember the name of the entity, but it was on a couple of outlets... anyway, they have planned and put aside several million dollars and to make sure that by the time he is out of office he won't have a freind in the world and they have a goal to make sure he will never be hailed a hero of any kind. Kind of sick if you ask me.... no one should ever plan or hope for the failure of another.. it is completely not good...

The only thing Bush accomplished is finding a very slick way to make zillions on the industrial military complex.
Dick and Lynn Cheney are former CEO's of Halliburton and Lockheed Martin. No bid contracts. Perpetual war. Gazillions being made as we talk.
War has been very, very good to these people.

Today Bush was bragging about beating his addiction.
I would strongly urge you Indiana to walk away from whatever it is you've been smoking.
"One of the best presidents we've ever been blessed with?"
Hint #1: ever notice how the GOP candidates never bring up the man's name?
Hint #2: ever notice how Bush's approval rating dropped from 90% post 9/11, and when WMD's were proven to be a lie, less than 30%

Yeah, I bet Dick Cheney's just a big ole teddy bear, too. It must have been pretty sneaky (unnamed) people who put out all those lies about him being wrong about Iraq and promoting torture of prisoners. Last I checked HIS popularity was under two bits! I wonder how long we should wait for Indiana's prediction about Bush's final vindication to come through? Heck, I'd just like to know the source of his/her last conspiracy theory.

You're on the wrong side of every issue and clearly drink deep from the kool aid cesspool of liberalism. The conspiracy about GWB and Cheney making their decisions for their own personal enrichment is laughable, there's not a shred of evidence. Liberals like you call wrong things right and right things wrong, you truly cannot tell the difference. You probably loved President Clinton, a proven repeated liar and infidel. Yes, GWB has made a lot of lousy decisions, but he is an honest man, but it's impossible for you to recognize sincerity so it's a waste of time pointing it out to you. For wrong or right, he has stuck to his guns and I admire him for that. I just wish he wasn't such a big spender. The "Neocon" movement is not dead and buried, it is just beginning and will win in the end. Why? Because it's right, period. Liberalism and relativism will die a dramatic death, but not until causing much pain and damage. Think, anonymous, think... it just takes practice.

President Bush may not be very popular right now, but his approval rating is consistently 5% to 10% higher than Congress. Senate Majority leader Harry Reid's approval rating is 19%, which is much lower than President Bush's rating. Speaker of the House Pelosi's rating is at least 2% lower than President Bush, depending on the poll.

So, be careful when saying that America does not approve of President Bush. America approves of President Bush to a greater degree than it approves of our Democrat run legislature. America approves of President Bush to a greater degree than it approves of the Democrat leaders of the Senate and the House.

What does that mean? Well, some would say that you've got to do a lot better than choose Democrats as leaders if you want to approve government.

The night the Supreme Court declared Bush the victor was the beginning of an 8 year nightmare. I don't know what the future holds, but at least we won't have this fundamentalist Christian crackpot as president much longer.

To Mr. 8:00 - I can't go so far with you as "Bush is an honest man." Honest men don't run push polls in campaigns, or approve others doing it. They don't lie the United States into a war, either personally or through others 935 times giving out information that was BOGUS. We should have concluded that Bush wasn't honest during the lies of the 2000 campaign. Lincoln was honest. Carter (whom you all hate) was honest. Bush - less honest than Nixon. As for Congress, no one votes on "Congress", but on their senators and Congressmen/women, most of whom get reelected.

Mark B is right on the mark. If Bush is an honest man, I'd hate to see a liar. This guy's administration is so corrupt that I long for the good old days with Dick Nixon.

But as long as GWB tags Christianity to his lapel, it seems that no one can bring themselves to even consider the notion that his presidency has done great damage to this great country, and the world.

I suspect that as time goes on, even conservatives will have to acknowledge that Uncle George has been a blemish on our history.

If Bush has indeed been sincere during his presidency, then he at the very least as been retarded.

People of the world...turn off Rush and Hannity and consider the facts as they are. The coming year cannot go by too quickly.
