I feel privileged having known such and extraordinary human being. He was a true
Prophet. His counsel, love, and example marked my life. I thank our Heavenly
Father for the blessing of having him as our leader. I will miss him very much.

Our family were truly sad at the passing of our beloved Prophet but happy for
him as he will be with his wife. When investigating the church about 14 years
ago, it was President Hinckley speaking at an April conference on Easter Sunday
which the Spirit spoke to my heart that this man is truly a man of God and this
church and gospel are true. Our love and prayers are with the Hinckley family.

Oh my goodness! Can you imagine the joy and delight that occured beyond the veil
when our dear Prophet was reunited with his sweetheart of so many years? I know
that twinkle in his eyes is still there, and he is in great company! Well done

We are deeply saddened by our dear Prophet's death but we also have the joy
in our hearts knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved companion. Pres.
Hinckley has made a tremendous impact in the life of our family as converts. We
always looked forward to the conferences and the beautiful messages he always
delivered. Pres. Hinckley will continue to live in our hearts. We love him
dearly. We have been truly blessed by his remarkable example.

I loved President Hinckley. I had the honor and privilege of seeing him in
person and although there were thousands in the room I felt like he was talking
just to me and he was my personal friend. That is how he made people feel. He
was an exceptional man and my family will miss him terribly, but we are very
thankful for the knowledge of eternal families and we know he is rejoicing in
heaven with his wife Margie. May we all gather strength and press forward in
rightousness through the examples and life of this great Prophet. He has truly
blessed our lives forever.

My family and I are very sadden to hear about the passing of President Hinkley.
My Wife was baptized in the same year that President Hinkley was called to be
our Prophet. Our Daughter was also baptized while Presdent Hinkley was our
Prophet. We were hoping that President Hinkley would live until after our Son
would be baptize which will be this Sat. Feb 2nd. Our prayers goes out to the
Hinkley's famlies and to all of us as members of the Church of Jesus Christ
Of Latter-Saints. We will miss him very very much.

Meq, there are 13 million members of the church worldwide, the majority of which
are outside of the state of Utah. So indeed, there are mourners worldwide. I
don't understand your need to attack the notion that this great man was
beloved throughout the world, which he definitely was. I stood in a stadium of
100,000 people in Rio De Janeiro who had come to hear him speak. Also, if the
world mourning is based on where in the paper it is located, as you seem to
indicate, it was the head story on CNN.com last night.

no words can adequately express what an amazing man President Hinckley is! a
spiritual giant...a man of uncompromising integrity, 'steadfast and
immovable'...yet one of the most humble, loving, compassionate and
approachable men ever to walk this earth! i am in awe as i think of the
millions of lives he has touched...his life, example and positive impact has
left a lasting legacy. as much as we will surely feel the absence of such an
incredible leader...i am comforted as i imagine the glorious reunion and welcome
home celebration that has taken place with his beautiful wife, his beloved
parents and family, and all those that had been awaiting his arrival back to his

The greatest tribute to our beloved dead is to translate our love for them to
others, still amoungst us on this side of the veil.

President Hinckley came closer to what I imagine my heavenly Father to be than
any man I have known. His love and compassion, his unending joy and optmisim,
his approachability, his wisdom. He just got kinder and more loving as he got
older. He was suffused with light and a great example of hope. I will miss him
especially at conference. I often wished that he would just stand at the podium
and talk for the last two hours of conference, that we could all soak up his
spirit and love. Oh, how lovely. You are missed already and will long be
remembered.

I thank God that I was blessed to have had the benefit of this great Prophet.
He was an inspiration to all who heard him -- if they were in tune with the
Spirit at all. I loved him as though he were a dear personal friend and
followed his counsel as nearly as I could.

The world has truely lost a Prophet of God, A holy man, a saint. His voice,
council, dedication, faith strength and conviction has been engraven into my
mind and spirit. I Hope that we can all follow his footsteps as he followed the
Lord's.

What an amazing man! I can only imagine how sacred it must have been in the
Spirit World the moment Pres. Hinckley entered. I am so grateful for the
opportunity to gain a testimony of the truth while Pres. Hinckley was our
beloved prophet. I am so grateful to have felt his love for me and for all every
time he spoke. I am so grateful for God's great plan of happiness and that
the work will roll forth and that He will continue to communicate to his
children here on earth through a living prophet!

"World mourns"? Read the story. Utahn's everyone. That is not the
world. Trust me, in Tennessee, only the LDS mourn. Nobody else knows squat, or
cares, and it's a decent place. "The World" does not have a clue.

I miss President Hinckley. I am most grateful the Lord allowed him to be with us
so long. I have learned so much from him. He is having a wonderful experience
being in the presence of his wonderful wife. He also will be greeted by the
Great Ones of the Kingdom. I do beleieve that President Gordon B. Hinckley is
one of the most significant Prophets in history. It is difficult to imagine the
millions of blessings that have been received on both sides of the veil because
of his hard work to make temples avaiable for so many souls.

I once went to his Ward in SLC. It was awesome to be in the presence of a man
who has been in the presence of the Lord. He was so human and smiled when the
speaker was talking about being his Home Teacher. Let us serve his memory as we

President Gordon B. Hinckley is one of the most beloved of prophets this Church
has known. He will be greatly missed by all of us as members of this Church and
by a great many who are not. Perhaps he shall be remembered most by the great
mission and work accomplished under his direction and leadership over the past
12+ years that literally has brought The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints "out of obscurity and out of darkness" unto the greater
understanding and respect of many in the world. President Gordon B. Hinckley,
as a result of the great mission he fulfilled, is almost as familiar a figure to
those outside of the Church as to those who comprise its membership. May his
family and close friends and associates be comforted and rejoice in the great
example and legacy he has left behind for all of us to benefit from. The great
temple-building program, the expanded humanitarian relief effort and the
Perpetual Education Fund are just a few of the many things accomplished under
his leadership that now bless the lives of so many. I thank the Lord for His
great Prophet and those yet to follow.

All of our three children ranging in age from 17 to 26 feel like he is their
prophet. He will be greatly missed. His optimism, love, and enthusiasm are
unprecedented. We all shed a tear but we rejoice in the knowledge of the
restored gospel and the great reunion he is having now with his loved ones. We
will always cherish his words that will live on in our hearts.

I was once in the company of our beloved prohet. He attended a sacrament
meeting without anyone knowing he was going to be there. What a thrill for all
of us. Our lives will go on, and the best way forward is to follow in the
footsteps of Gordon Bitner Hinkley, who, after all, was walking in the footsteps
of the Saviour. Could any path be clearer, easier maybe, but never clearer.

Having only spent an hour or so of my life in President Hinckley's
presence,at the Nottingham Stake building several years ago now, I truly come to
know, by the witness of the Holy Spirit that he was a truly honest man, who

his life. He truly loved the Savior and the people of the world, not just the

I am so greatful to know president Gordon B. Hinkley. He is a true servant of
God, his lifelong service in the church but also helping those who are less
fortunate, the humanitarian effort, and counsel of being prepared at all time
spiritually but also temprally. I've being blessed to heard from him two
weeks ago in our Stake conference through satelite as he spoke to us about
marriage and be more tolerable of each other and be more kind, patient and love
for one another. I will forever remember him for his faith and great humor
during general conference. May the spirit of the Lord comfort his family and
closes frineds and all the members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints around the world as we morn together the passing of our beloved Prophet
Gordon Bitner Hinkley. We will missed you until we meet again.

While serving in Japan from 1958 to 1961 Pres. Hinckley toured our mission 3
times as an assistant to the twelve, one time he gave me advice, "find a
good nisei girl and marry her", which I did. And when I did, I asked if he
would marry us, which he did in the SL Temple. Many years later, he visited our
Stake Conference in Pleasanton, CA, he leaned over to our stake president and
said "I know that man". We have a nice photo of him with 5 of our 6
children (our youngest was not born yet). He certainly has been our most
favorite general authority ever.

It was an honor to have been in his presence at the Sacramento Temple
dedication. Our ward had BYD at my home when the phone call came.... I had to
announce to 22 youth and adults that our prophet of the lord had passed. It was
very sad and yet we all were assured that Gordon was being embraced by his wife
once again and by Heavenly Father.

Enjoy your eternity, President Hinckley. Though not because of your own
actions, however great they most certainly were, but because of the Atonement of
our loving Saviour, may you find never-ending joy with your loved ones now and
forever. How beautiful is the man that acknowledges the sacrifice made by our
Lord Jesus Christ, and demonstrates his love for Him through the relentless
pursuit to be like Him, and to help others to do the same. I am in awe at the

You do not have to agree with President Hinckley, his followers or their church,
but out of respect for the individual, maybe voicing your opinions should have
been saved for a more appropriate venue. This is one of the problems with our
society in general; there is no respect for anything and we focus only on self
gratification. Have we all grown so far away from basic human compassion that
we can�t even acknowledge that he was a human being who has
passed and morn the loss? It would have been just as easy to say nothing or
better yet, not have read the article and comments. You have wasted more time
reading comments and a story that neither of you obviously care about, so why,
maybe to get a reaction and attention? I really do feel sorry for the two of
you and the world we live in!

President Hinckley was/is such an example for all of us. He was optomistic in
the face of challenge and doomsdayers and was faithful to the end. How can any
of us strive to do less. I can only imagine the shout of joy that went up when
he walked through the veil and was met by so many he loved and who loved him.

Truly the mantle of exemplary leadership, wisdom, and prophethood has passed
over the head of a great prophet to the one whose right it is to succeed him.
