Through the past two years of struggling with an addiction to prescription drugs, my husband always found hope in President Hinckley saying, "Just do your best." So many times he felt worthless and lost, wanting to give up on himself, but because of President Hinckley's unconditional love and encouragement to "just do your best," he has continued in the battle and forged ahead through the bright days and the dark ones. Thank you for your kind heart and bright spirit. You will be missed.

President Hinckley, the consummate missionary, will be remembered for his love and concern for all persons world wide and his love for his Heavenly Father. His examples of commitment, labor, love and humor will long be emulated by the Latter Day Saints and others who had the opportuity to partake of his wise counsel. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with the Hinckley family

We are so grateful for our beloved prophet. We love him and honor him. We are deeply saddened by his passing and will miss him dearly, but we are strenthened by his expemplary life and vibrant, immovable testimony of the Lord's work. We rejoice in the life he lived and the work he will continue to do with the Lord. He has strengthened our testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught us by word and example how to be ever faithful. He is the prophet of our youth and we have been blessed as he has served steadfastly in his calling. We love President Hinckley! May the Lord be with his family.

Love,

Reading all the wonderful comments have brought tears to my eyes. Pres. Hinckley was such an inspiration to me to do better in my life. I'm so sorry that he had to leave us, but I rejoice that he is again with his dear Marjorie and all the rest of his family. What a joyous reunion that must have been! I will miss your inspiring words.

Our children grew up loving President Hinckley. We love him and are grateful for the blessings of a living prophet who has truly inspired and taught us to follow the Savior. My favorite memories include the humble care he gave President Benson and the way he carried his cane. Early morning seminary students in our area had a special lesson about President Hinckley. We will focus on lessons learned from him in home evening tonight. A non-member friend expressed her sympathy at his passing. How easy it was to hope he would live to be 100, and I will miss his wonderful voice and message next Conferance. What a blessing we have in our church to know we have a prophet who receives direction from God, and to know that blessing will continue as we sustain our new prophet. May the Hinckley family be comforted and feel the love the world shares for our beloved Gordon B. Hinckley. God Bless our Prophet dear, and his wonderful family, too.

it was during presidentHinckley's time that I was called as an area authority seventy. I remember visiting him in his office a very rare opportunity
He rose from his seat to receive me and I was so humbled. What a humble man I said to myself and I there and then, decided to follow his footsteps to become humble too
I will forever remember him as he granted me the rare opportunity to take a picture with him and Elder Packer which hangs in our hall
my family and I will forever cherish that forever.
may his soul rest in perfect peace

The world loses a Prophet but his family loses a Father, grandfather and great grandfather. May the spirit bring to them great comfort and solace as the world mourns with them.

Today my school honored Pres. Hinckley by wearing church clothes. Even though we wore church clothes we still need to "wear" the Spirit with us everyday. Pres. Hinckley taught us to be Christlike to others and I hope that we will do as he directs. Thank you Pres. Hinckley!!!

I know that Gordon B. Hinckley was truly a prophet called from God, and that he is back living with Father in Heaven now, and enjoying every minute of it. I'm thankful for the time we got to have him, and for the knowledge that we will one day be able to walk with him again. Thank you, God, for sending us such and extraordinary man to guide our church.

I am so sad, at our great loss,I Loved Pres. Hinckley. He is now happy with those who went before him!!!

I wondered why my first reaction to the news of President Hinckley's death was tears. But on reflection, I realize they were tears of joy for him, for his dear wife, and for the wonderful reception he would be at that time, receiving from our Savior, our Father, from Joseph Smith, and from President Hinckley's extended family, as well as prophets who have succeeded him. It is overwhelming to realize what is happening there and what it all means. I am grateful for the years of his service I've known of him. He has been an inspiration to me in so many ways. Whenever aging seems hard, all I've had to do was think of him and have new courage.

As spokesperson for Christian Science in Utah, we extend our prayers of comfort to the LDS Church membership and especially the family of President Gordon B. Hinckley. I was privileged to be in the audience to hear his recent speech at the re-dedication of the State Capitol. His full life was a fine example of serving one's church with true vigor.

A Prophet of the Most High God
Who honored the "Eternal Priesthood"
Your "Guidence and Love" Will Live On.
Your Humbleness to Serve.
For you Walked a Great Walk.
As in a Book You wrote:
To Stand A Little Taller
That "YOU DID" In Testimony
What a Blessing - Your Works not done.
Your "Home has changed to a Higher Sphere"
To Share again with your Dearest Marjorie.
But "You will be Greatly Missed"
For thats "Love"
Prayers to "Your Family"
As the "Mantle is Passed"
An awesome responsibilty. To Pres. Monson
Our Lords - "Words of Wisdom are Divine"
For My Prayers will be also for you and family.
Those who Serve.
Prophet: Gordon B. Hinckley
Thank You so Very Much in being "Who You Are"
For You have Left a mark on "MY Mortality"
That will carry on through "My Eternity"
You "Taught to spend Time Wisely"
For Time isn't bought. It's Called:
"Christ Like Love"
"For All of Father's Children"
"What a Legacy"

President Hinckley and his wife Marjorie were examples of service in every way. It reminds you of the difference one can make when you turn your life over to God. Thank you to the Hinckley family for their sacrifice through sharing their parents and granparents with us and the rest of the world.

Our Family will greatly miss you but have great memories of what you have taught us. It has been wonderful to be alive at this time and know you and other prophets who have passed. You are certianly one of the last who could tell so much about the churches struggles and growth over the last 97 years. I HOPE AND PRAY MANY WILL COME OUT OF THE WOOD WORK BACK TO THE CHURCH BECAUSE OF YOUR FAITH.
MDM | 4:19 p.m. Jan. 28, 2008
Bitter-Sweet News... He was a man for our times and will be deeply missed. The good news is of coarse he is with his angel wife again and he has earned his reward. The bad news is, it is our lose. Thank heaven (literially) that the next prophet won't miss a beat in this work. Only if our goverment had such a seamless transition. Our prayers are with Elder Monson and the Hinckley family.

Such wonderful testimonies...of such a great man...
He loved us and we knew it...He loved the Lord, and his Gospel and we knew that as well.

We loved him. He will be missed but only for a short while.

How blessed we all were to share in this era with him.
How grateful we are for the knowlege that he again shares his noble spirit with his sweetheart....
